Here is a piccie of my first bit of needle felting, it's not anything great, but at least I'm getting going and trying to perfect the technique - proper wet felting starts next week. :-) :-)

Sorry for boring you all senseless.........

Gosh, it hadn't even struck me about the fluffies, but yes it does look rather like one :-)

Will definitely keep that in mind suffkolk, will have to put the doglets into close security mode :D :D

Its lovely! It looks like a rosette (she says, hoping, thats what it is supposed to be!) I was wondering, is there a difference between felting and wet felting? Yours looks like you've made a great start anyway so well done! xx

Doing crafts is a great help for staying positive, takes your mind off the pain and all. I love crafting, just starting to make Christmas tree decorations and homemade presents. Well done, love felt, I may have a go at that too. X

Hi snickypoo there is a difference one is with needles with barbs on and the other is with water! If you look on line you will find craft sits with felting in both ways. xxgins

Thanks Gins! I think I might have a look at that, I usually make jewellery but I am having difficulty sitting at the moment, but Foggy has given me details of where to get a bean bag thingy that she has found invaluable, so, if I can get one, I might be able to start up the jewellery making and maybe even add another hobby! I know what you mean about endless tv!! There is only so much of the mindless drivvel I can stand before I start climbing the walls!! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. ((((hugs)))) for you xxx

I'm also having trouble with my neck which is stopping me from doing my jewellery making too. 3 weeks now, and couldn't come at worse time, getting things ready for xmas fairs :-(.

I think I am getting a nerve trapped in my neck as it hurts all across the shoulder and down the arm when I look up or put chin forward as I stoop forward to do the close up work or read a computer screen (bad posture).

Foggy, do you think the bean bag thing might suit me too?

Thanx

I would love to have a go at felting, but am allergic to wool lanolin...damn!

Hi Glenys,

I really can sympathise with you, its so frustrating when you know you have all your fairs coming up and you cant physically make the goodies that you need to! Very Upsetting!

Your neck problem does sound like maybe you could have a nerve trapped, if you havent already, I would mention it to GP as you have had it for 3 wks.

Whatever it is, I do hope you get some relief from it soon so you can get busy making your jewellery.

The bean bag that Foggy is talking about is out of stock at the moment, I have emailed them to see if they are having the same ones back in. Please feel free to message me if you would like me to pass on the details of the website for you. x

Hi Glenys

Yes, I do think one would help, it doesn't have to be exactly the same as mine, there are others which work well too - I will pm you.

Also one can use alpaca fleece, would that have the same effect on you as sheep fleece, I'm not sure whether alpacas have lanolin in their coats. I will find out for you :-)

Thanx both of you :-)

Doc said I had pulled a muscle, but physios have both said nerve damage, just not where exactly, but I go and see one of them tomorrow and will verify it :-/

Will try alpaca if cheap enough, as I think I am OK with angora,

I've ordered some bamboo matting for doing my wet felting with gins, and I've got bubble wrap of course, the lady in the craft shop said I need to use olive oil soap, but I'm wondering if I can use anything else as the shop didn't have any in hhhhhmmm
