Hello wonderful people.... Looking for some help from peeps with experience of having fibro for a while.
I know fibro affect everyone slightly differently but just wondering how people explain what having fibro is like to people?

Thanks VG x
I'm afraid I'm very naughty - if people ask why I limp, or get bouts of tiredness, I will occasionally admit to having arthritis, but mostly I make up very unlikely conditions like 'Fuminating Gratinosis'.
This I caught it when I was bitten by a crocodile on the Limpopo river.
Other excuses include being recently shot in the knee by a jealous toyboy, or being trampled by the opposing team in the World Mincing Championships.
You would be surprised what people will believe if you can tell a tall story with a straight face!
Hahaha aww I love your answers!! That sounds soo much fun. Im definitely not going to get stressed about giving a good enough answer and might adopt your style. Love love love it!!
Actually moffy did enter the world mincing championships but came last ........ and only had one toe squashed by ill fitting shoes ..... I will lock her in the volunteers cupboard again
VG the holder of the world record for the most lies told in 30 seconds.
Awhhh ... you know you were there, cheering me on as I 'minced' to victory!
If I'm actually trying to explain what it feels like to 'normos' I normally ask them if they've ever had flu? Actual proper flu (not just a heavy cold/virus) where you can't get out of bed, and ache all over in every muscle from head to toe, and are so absolutely exhausted, it takes all your effort just to lift your head, that's pretty much fibro to me - day in, day out, but then of course you can't stay in bed for the rest of your life (or I don't intend to anyhow), so you have to get up and get on and fight through that as much as you can and 'carry on as normal' depsite the fact that most 'normos' with flu wouldn't carry on as normal feeling as you do with flu....
Haha well VG and Moffy... You are both winners to me! I love your style.
Thanks Pheonix, im fed up getting worked up about trying to explain it to people.
I get alot of how can you get so tired so easily I said to folk imagine being a quarter full battery at all times no matter what I do I drain to nothing if only I could recharge like a mobile phone plug myself into charger folk can see how my body is every day when I told my doctor this too Fed up of ppl around me judging me when they don't have all the facts I love your quick witty stories very good I can't make up funny stories as my fibro was brought on with serious trauma growing up but I do use humour to get through my tears though if I don't I would just cry all the time I am under a great mental health team have had their input for a very long time I'm grateful for their support and I do have a social worker who reminds me of mrs browns boys when see her it makes my day lol x
I told a lady that i was bit by a couple of tsezi's flies that had landed on me while having sex I still laugh to this day cos her face was a one in a million picture, kept my spirits up for weeks lol.lol
Hi punkrockchick, such a shame to hear your story big gentle hugs. Having a social worker looking like mrs brown would make anyone giggle lol. Aww I love your answer happycroc! Totally brilliant!! Love love it! Definitely there's alot of fun to be had x
Hi, also describe it like having flu, but also with no sleep, massive pain all over which moves around body, plus a touch of ME thrown in for good measure. I also say these are not all that fibros suffer from but others are too delicate to mention in public. I just love some of the really witty answers, would love to be able to think like that. Hugs xx
