Hi all, saw Glenys question about doctors! I looked on the site that was recommended, and I wondered can you approach them personally, or do you have to be referred by your GP? Any help would be most appreciated, thanks Ali63

Hi Ali,
It's usual to get your GP to refer you to a consultant, so that they can give background info. on your condition.
Once this is done, you either wait for an appointment on the NHS, or if you choose to go privately, you can call the consultant's secretary for a convenient time and date.
