Went to bank to get my ESA (Cont) awarded 4 weeks ago guess what no money!!!! phoned DWP told they have changed payment date

now get it 3 days later any one else been messed about by them might have cost me bank charges for unpaid bills as bank have said they cannot cancel direct debits at this short notice

I know they have a lot of people to deal with, but all those people have lives and bills and commitments too. It seems that if you're on benefits, you dont matter and you will just have to wait. I get so annoyed when things are changed and they dont tell you. It has a knock on affect to all sorts of things which YOU have to put right and deal with. Ive recently moved and bcoz the woman at HB used an incorrect email address (to the one i gave her) for my HA, she didnt get the info she wanted and didnt even think to phone me to check it. I had to phone them to ask what was happening, which was NOTHING as she didnt follow it up. The result of that was I got an eviction notice from my HA. So I had to sort that too.I was SO annoyed bcoz it makes me look bad, when all I've done is what they asked. Grrrrrrr. I hope you get sorted soon without blowing too many fuses,lol. Have a good day

That's terrible. They should have notified you, like any other "employer". Many civil servants have no idea what it's like on the coal front for those less fortunate than themselves.

Bumblebee, your situation was appalling. Am so glad you got it sorted but it won't have done you an ounce of good getting there.

The only thing the DWP are good at is stopping payments without notice, it takes weeks of phoning and writing to them to get payments restored, and many more calls to get arrears paid.
