My husband and I have recently had a baby boy through IVF treatment on the NHS, I would most definitely like more children I can not find any information on the internet advising me if I'm eligible for more IVF on the NHS as i can not afford private care. I have asked my GP and his answer was bluntly 'I do not know the answer to that I'm sorry,' could you help.

IVF a second time after success the first time.
Hi there, I am not certain of the answer because each county is different. Your best bet is to contact your PCT (primary care trust) they commission all of the services for each county. if you google it, you will be able to find contact details. Ask for your IVF funding department. They will be able to tell you if there is funding. To be honest I am not sure there will be. Most policies say that priority goes to those who have no children. But I know you said you couldn't afford it in the UK, but have you thought about IVF in Denmark? or somewhere european?? flights to denmark are super cheap less than 100 pounds from the UK, and IVF in some clinics is about 1500, much much more affordable than in the UK... just something to consider... I hope this helps?
Hi
Unfortunately every PCT will say that you are not eligible for anymore NHS IVF treatments as you have now had a child Some PCT might help you with some of the lower level treatments like clomid etc
As said before your best bet would be abroad for cheaper cycles or you could stay in UK and egg share if you produce enough eggs? You donate eggs and you get a cheaper cycle

Under the current regime of cutbacks you've got almost nil chance under the nhs, but privately I'd say an egg sharing route will significantly reduce your costs.....
i am egg sharing at the moment cause i cant have ivf on NHS and i am only paying £75 google londons womens clinic worth a look good luck
Hi. If you have a look at our website infertilitynetworkuk.com on the “NHS funding” page you will be able to access an interactive map. Just hover over the area where you live and you will be able to find out the criteria for your PCT. Loads of other information too for you on the site. Regards.
