IVF Boy or Girl?

ChloeNeatherway profile image

Hi lovelies, just looking to get an idea of how many boys vs girls you have all had with IVF and ICSI? Getting results back from NIPT next week and I know boys are more likely with IVF but interested to know your outcomes.

I heard boys were more likely with IVF and girls more with ICSI (but only slightly!). We didn't find out until birth, but she was a girl following ICSI ❤️ which was a surprise as I felt sure she was a boy 🤣

IVF girl. She was my only 6 day embryo. I read that boys are in rush and girls take their time!

all ICSI 2 girls and 1 boy

The 2 girls (born different years) but same egg collection

1 boy was after my husband had an op to help as we had been through two rounds and they were both really bad. The last year we got two good embryos, and one is our little boy

2 boys both ICSI (didn’t find out until they were born!) but my close friend has 2 girls both ICSI and my other friend has a an IVF girl and the others one of each both ICSI.

At my 4 year olds bday party last week I counted out of the 20 kids there 9 had been conceived via fertility treatment (my friend was there whose mum runs the nurses dept at our local fertility clinic and I was telling her ‘your mum made all these kids’ lol). Counting now gender there were 5 boys and 4 girls in the 9 but the party was mostly boys but that’s my small sample size for you lol

SO I think it’s just the same as natural conception just pure chance/fate. 🤗

we had a boy from ICSI.

Day 5 5AA embryos are 70% likely to be a boy. But ours was a 5BB. I think overall though there’s only a few percent higher chance of a boy over a girl.

I know 9 people who have had ivf. 7 had boys and 2 had girls. One girl was from a day 6 embryo. And one girl was from a day 5 3AB. Girl embryos develop slower than boy embryos.

Out of my close friends, 1 has a girl via icsi, 1 has a boy and girl via ivf (twins from same collection 2 embryos transferred) and two others have a boy via ivf. I know heaps more but not sure if they are ivf or icsi. Its fascinating I've never thought about this before.

I heard the opposite that boys were more likely from icsi as the sperm is fast moving but female sperm move more slowly but love for longer but maybe I’m way off base. Either way it’s 100% true in my case as 3 boys all icsi. Final bubba was a double donor and it ended up being a girl
