Clearblue Advanced OPK - False Positive/Dye Run?

I'd really appreciate if anyone has knowledge or experience with the Clearblue advanced.

Started testing on CD9 as per instructions.

Had blank circles CD 9, 10, 11, 12, 13

CD14 it jumped straight to static smiley. No flashing faces first.

However I did push on the cap quite hard, and when I ejected the test, there was horrendous dye run all over it and only one strong line.

Also, the easy at home strips only have a faint line the whole time, including twice with the exact same urine as the clearblue?

My strip OPKs are still negative this whole time, including today at CD16, despite doing them multiple times a day.

I've no idea if this is a correct result or not? Online there are others saying this.

My cycles vary between 29 and 39 days so I have no idea when I might ovulate if at all.

My clinic were adamantly against the digital tests and said the cheapies (I also used easy at home) are far more reliable. If you're unsure ask the clinic what they recommend, and tell them why you are concerned and they will advise you on how best to proceed. They can also scan you to check the follicle size which will indicate whether you have already, or are close to ovulation.

Thank you very much for reply, useful to know what your clinic said. Yes, I suspect that the digital is incorrect, which makes me mad cause it cost £45 for one month! Easy@Home still negative at CD17. No real symptoms of ovulation yet, although I don't usually get strong symptoms anyway.

I don't have a clinic, not yet anyway. I've yet to go to GP, a bit scared to ask tbh. But I am 37 and partner is nearly 46, and I have PCOS, also I cannot try very often as suffer UTIs, so that's why I was trying to use the kits to pinpoint if or when I ovulate xx

I would trust the easy at home ones much more, they have always been pretty reliable for me. They also have an app (premom) that goes with them. I've had a few months where I haven't ovulated until much later and they always catch it if I keep testing.

Good luck. x
