DHEA and periods

Hi,

Anyone that is, or has, taken DHEA, has this impacted your periods? I am two days late (I’m never late) and my mind is obviously going into overdrive.

The side effects don’t state delayed periods but not sure if it is impacting this or not?!

DHEA absolutely and 100% delays periods. I had to stop it because I felt it was messing up my cycles! That’s interesting because in a lot of forums this has been confirmed which is why I stopped x

Thank you.

The side effects on the tablets doesn’t state this nor did my clinic advise that this could happen. Feel a little silly as I thought by some chance we’d fallen pregnant again 😢 x

Aww please don’t feel silly at all! I felt the same one time until I realised it was the DHEA.

Have you done a pregnancy test to be sure? Again I did this once to be sure and then decided to stop DHEA. I also read that it makes endometriosis (a condition I’ve got) worse due to the estrogen content. So never again for me! X

morning, DHEA, as I understand it, to testosterone in the body, which is a hormone. So it is likely that it is delaying your period - maybe to be on the safe side, take a quick pregnancy test before continuing with drugs. Blowing you baby dust

Morning, I have been taking DHEA for around 5 months and I had one instance where I was 7 days late (you can imagine my mind went in to overdrive then!) but other than that it doesn’t appear to have affected my periods. Wishing you all the best x

HiI've been talking dhea for about a year now. My periods are all over the place but I'm not sure if it's down to my age. I'm 44.

Do you mind me asking how old you are?

I'm wondering whether to stop taking them and see if my periods settle down or whether I just have to accept my age is causing problems in that department.

Sending love and hope Babydust2023 xx
