hi has anyone been told they have a low amh and went on to conceive naturally at a later age? I’m 42, going to start all the antioxidant supplements again and stop drinking alcohol.

low amh, success stories at older age.
How low is your AMH?
When I was told mine was low they said it wouldn't effect my chances at getting pregnant but more the success rate if I needed IVF as there wouldn't be as many follicles to stimulate.
I was also told that I had low AMH when I was 42. We tried IVF twice and only got one /two eggs each time and one blastocyst from each round however they were not viable. I conceived naturally three times between 41 to 43. However two of the pregnancies (at 41 and 43) resulted in early losses. The final pregnancy (which I discovered the day before my 44th birthday) is my now nearly two year old son. Low AMH does not mean you can’t conceive naturally however the difficulty as you get older is egg quality. However it can happen but it requires dedication and lifestyle changes. In my case the only issue we had was my age although I did have an unusually thin lining but that did not stop me conceiving. I wish you best of luck and hope you are successful. x
Hi, I hope you don't mind me writing as this is the first time I've written thought I've been on the site for over a year.Your response resonated with me, and your story inspired me.
I'm 45 now and AMH isn't low = 9.3, but unexplained infertility, 5 egg collections and ICSI rounds, 1 miscarriage from the first of those rounds, 2 natural pregnancies when I stopped the IVF process, been a lot.
But you conceived naturally and said lifestyle changes. Would you mind please saying what those were?
Thanks
I stopped caffeine (only had decaf drinks). I never drank alcohol or smoked so that wasn’t an issue for me however if I did drink or smoked I would have stopped that. I walked everyday (having a dog helped). I am vegetarian but tried to have more of a protein rich diet by eating nuts, dairy (full fat milk, yoghurt) etc. I did acupuncture for at least 18 months and reflexology (although for my successful pregnancy I had stopped acupuncture a few months beforehand and was just having reflexology). I took impryl, vitamin D (high strength) and omega 3 daily. I was also doing oestrogen priming around the time of my successful pregnancy (in an attempt to thicken my lining for donor egg conceived embryo). This entailed taking oestrogen tablets from the start of my cycle and then midway introducing cyclogest and then having a withdrawal bleed. I think I must have done this at least 2/3 before I naturally conceived. Also the month before I conceived I had an ERA test which is not dissimilar to a endometrial scratch. The truth is I’m not sure if all or some or none of these things helped. I wish you the best of luck. I know how hard this journey is. X
Appreciate all this. Thanks x
Sorry I should have said that I did use the OvuSense ovulation tracker for a considerable period to ensure we didn’t miss my fertile window and this worked for my second pregnancy which unfortunately resulted in a loss. I didn’t use it for my successful pregnancy as we’d given up at that stage. Also my husband stopped drinking alcohol not that he had much (perhaps a drink once or twice a year) and he also stopped having hot baths and limited cycling. He didn’t take any supplements as the issue was with the viability of my eggs. X
I found the book 'it starts with the egg' really helpful when doing IVF in my early 40s. All the best of luck!
I've heard about that book so maybe it's time to but the bullet. Thank you x
