Hi, me and my partner have just paid for a multicycle package 2 cycles with access fertility, but we're now very concerned about the possibility of freezing the embryos after egg collection, they have only just told us that we would need a freeze all, and it's extra cost, I've been back and forth on the phone between my clinic and access fertility and they are having a dispute who we actually need to pay the money to, as my clinic says its access and access says its the clinic, so my clinic has put a note for the manager to look at but I will have to wait until Monday now to find out, it's very stressful, and if anyone could please help me, I would like to know how much it was for you with a frozen transfer as the package was not cheap on its own, and we have budgeted for only a certain amount, I hope this doesn't sound to confusing, thank you in advance 😊
Confused about freeze all cycle - Fertility Network UK
Confused about freeze all cycle
Sorry just to add, I would just like to know if it would be classed as a freeze all cycle, or would they just charge us to freeze and store the embryos?
We paid the whole thing through the clinic, two cycle package but needed to freeze all which was extra £700 and includes first year's storage plus one frozen transfer. After that any other frozen transfers from the embryos of the two paid for cycles is about £3000 each transfer. We also might have paid extra for icsi at £1200 but didn't need to on the end. So far only done one cycle and froze everything.
Thank you for your reply, so does that mean we would need to do the whole 2 rounds within the years storage to avoid the extra 3000 cost, as access fertility told us it was unlimited transfers ? Or did she Just mean fresh transfers, also how come it would be more expensive with icsi if it's still the same transfer as ivf and still all the same process like freezing embryos ect, thank you again
I have just been looking at the package we chose and it's unlimited frozen embryo transfer If that makes any more sense,?

I always thought it was unlimited transfers including frozen of any embryos created from the 2 cycles. If you want to freeze the embryos created in the first cycle then you would pay an additional cost plus storage. In normal circumstances you would do a cycle fresh transfer and freeze any remaining anyway. You would have to use all the frozen before the next cycle though.
Are you planning to use all the frozen embryos first before the next cycle? You need to check with access as if you would not be using those frozen embryos this is classed as banking which they don't do.
You'd need to check with the clinic, I'm sure it's different at each - dont see why you'd need to do two cycles in one year.
Our package is not unlimited transfers hense paying for each frozen one.
Because icsi is a different process and fornthe package we chose, was not included
I think you’re right to double check your package as that doesn’t sound 100%, access offer unlimited frozen ET, meaning they are always going to freeze the embryos from round 1, use those embryos before moving onto round 2 - you should however get at least 1 fresh transfer. Most packages will say;
Up to 2 fresh cycles of IVF / ICSI
Unlimited frozen embryo transfers
FREEZING AND STORAGE
Embryo freezing and 1 year storage
which is inclusive in whichever package you purchase, however I do think there is one clinic you have to pay an additional fee for, which I think is around £700.
Sorry that you are now facing an additional stress on top of what is already a very difficult time. Hopefully someone gives you clarity tomorrow.

My clinic doesn’t charge extra to freeze all for doing PGTA with an Access multicycle package. So you then just have your unlimited transfers from the package from any PGTA normal embryos.
However as others have said Access do not allow banking so one has to use all embryos before moving onto a new egg collection in the package. However our clinic are allowing us to put our Access package on hold now (we still have an embryo left for transfer, though no egg collections left from the package) and do a contract direct with them for further embryo banking. But we can’t use Access for this. But once we are ready we can go back and have that paid for transfer under the old Access contract.
Thank you all for your inputs, I knew there might be additional costs somewhere but honestly thought that would all be included in the package as most likely if you have more than 1 embryo you would need to freeze to save for next transfer anyway, the fertility clinic receptionist wasn't really sure which one I would need as she told me at first it should be included in the package usually, but she didn't want to give me false information so she said she would get back to me, hopefully tomorrow, 🤞I will let you know the outcome xx
hello we were 1300 for frozen transfer plus meds. Xxx
Hi, I also paid for a 2 cycle package with unlimited transfers from Access fertility. I did a freeze all as I was doing PGTA and there was no extra cost for that. Maybe it varies clinic to clinic but was definitely no extra charge at mine.
hey, I’m also with access fertility. I had one embryo transferred and the two other embryos were frozen, and paid for by access fertility as part of the same package like yourself. However, that transferred which was fresh didn’t work then I had one of the frozen embryo transferred. After the transfer of one of the frozen embryo, we instantly received paper work to sign to pay for the last frozen embryo. I think we need to pay £800 at some point this year. We haven’t fully signed it yet as we’re just celebrating that the frozen has stuck so we’re in that moment presently. I think it’s confusing with access fertility, I’ve had to call to ask certain questions about embryo glue etc as the clinic weren’t sure what was covered etc. I’m not sure why it’s like this but it needs sorting properly. From what I understand, your frozen cycle should have been covered under access fertility, as that’s what you’ve paid ALL THAT MONEY for. I hope you get it sorted. Good luck x
Thank you, that makes much more sense tbh, apart from you shouldn't have to pay for the last frozen embryo, as you've already paid for freezing and storage through your package, I feel that's really unacceptable and they just wanting more money, but of course if we're gonna get a baby out of it, which you are then that 800 pound is minimal to what you will get finally, congratulations 🎊 and I'm glad to also hear a success story come out of it as well xx
Hi, so I inpatiently rang the clinic and access fertility today, and it's been sorted, so basically if we was to choose to skip a fresh transfer on our first attempt then additional charges would apply, but say if you was at risk of ohss and they had to do a frozen embryo transfer, then it would be classed as a medical reason and would be the clinics fault as they overstimulated you so there wouldn't be a charge as it's all in with the package. I was worried before because that's what happened in my first cycle, I had to wait 2 months to transfer because my hormones were still to high and was at risk. Thank you all for your replies and support and I hope and pray we all get our little miracles this year 🙏 ❤️
