there’s little to be done but I’m going crazy so I’m writing this to try and deal. . A Few days prior to embryo transfer a friend gave me some olives which unfortunately gave me really bad food poisoning and made me throw up. It only lasted a day, but it was about three days before my embryo transfer, I didn’t think to tell my doctor as it only last a day and I remain hydrated. Google however tells me I might have scuppered my chances which is heartbreaking as I had two embryos which were apparently good grade that are probably wasted. In addition I got my medicines wrong and I think I might have injected too much progesterone. There is no point in crying over spilt milk but I’m hoping for a miracle. Am super upset

food poisoning a few days prior embryo transfer
With respect to the bad olives, do not worry about it a second. After my last transfer I got horribly sick: fever, awful coughing, I might have had covid again and I had a great positive (last week).
With respect to injecting too much progesterone, there is no such thing as injecting too much progesterone. When it comes to progesterone, it is never enough and you will never had injected « too much » with a few injections.
Relax
I managed to get food poisoning after embryo transfer during the 2 week wait and was ill for a week. My embryo stuck and now I am 24 weeks. Please don’t worry, I know it’s hard, wishing you the best of luck x
hey Runnergirl40, congratulations, it’s so exciting to hear you are at 24 weeks I find myself seconding guessing every little thing but I am trying to relax and treat myself to a little chocolate and am going out for a walk later to clear my head, your reassurance is ever so much appreciated, thank you! Wishing you, all the very best, hugs 🥰
Hi lovely,
Please don't worry about it - the sickness will not have affected your chances.
And when it comes to progesterone - more is better! Your body will just flush out what it doesn't need.
Wishing you lots of luck xx
thank you Millbanks for your kind thoughts. Again appreciated many thanks to all you ladies for being there for me, best wishes and hugs, x
hello lovely,
Please try not to worry ⭐️
The food poisoning won’t jeopardise anything. I mistakenly had undercooked meat before transfer and then I had Covid during pregnancy… and my baby is healthy and wonderful!
Also, there is no such thing as too much progesterone 😌 your body will get rid of what is not needed ♥️
Good luck!!!!
thank you Luce_16 for reassurances and so happy for you and baby ! Wishing you both a festive and merry x’mas (it comes round so quick!), best wishes x
Just to say being sick before the transfer won't have an impact on the outcome at all, and as for progesterone your body will only absorb what it needs so you can't overdose on it! Just keep taking your meds and avoid Google. Good luck x
I just did my embryo transfer and had the worse food poisoning last night, started 2 am and had embryo transfer this morning at 8.30am.I even had to get drip.Crossing my finger and putting my trust in God.Im not feeling well as I'm typing this. Please don't worry. All will be well
The day of my transfer I was exposed to COVID and 5 days later got sick. Not only did the embryo stick it split and I’m 28 weeks with identical twins.
Wishing you lots of baby dust! Make sure to stay hydrated.
I don’t think either thing will affect your little embryos. I caught norovirus on day 6p5dt and spent 12 hours vomiting every hour and definitely did not stay hydrated but my little girl was fine.
At the time I gave up all hope because I didn’t think dehydration, fever and abdominal retching were at all welcoming for a tiny embryo but just shows that if they are going to implant then they will. Good luck , don’t give up hope, I really don’t think it will affect implantation xx 🍀🍀
