Looking for hope - 2 miscarriages with DE

We are lucky enough to have our miracle 2 year old from our first round. Threatened miscarriage on the 1st pregnancy (bed rest for 1.5 months) But I’m absolutely heartbroken to be going through our 2nd miscarriage of 2024. 1st in March and another now 💔 Heard this little one’s heartbeat at 7 weeks. Attended my consultant at 9 weeks with light spotting, to find baby had not grown and there was no longer our little angel’s heartbeat. This is a 2nd consecutive loss with a donor egg. My husband and donor were tested for any chromosomal issues at the beginning of the IVF process. I’m looking for some thoughts/advice for going forward or positive stories to keep in mind please x

I don't have a positive story to share yet but I just wanted to say you're not alone and I see you. I hope you can feel better soon. I'm sure other ladies will be able to share positive experiences soon. Take care x

I am so sorry for your losses. It is heartbreaking 💔. Have you had any testing eg immune tests for recurrent pregnancy loss?

Hi, thank you for your reply. Yeah it’s so hard to cope with. I must look back, I was tested for a lot of things before beginning IVF to try see why I had went into premature menopause at 28. I know they test for killer cells which I didn’t have. Unfortunately in Ireland it is unlikely I will be offered any tests unless we have a 3rd loss 😭 I’m very lucky that they’re going to test the tissue this time for chromosomal issues.

Edited to add: after a hysteroscopy in June they found that the lining of my womb wasn’t forming correctly and the clinic made changes by upping my oestrogen until the end of week 6 of pregnancy. After the last miscarriage I was also put on Clexane for this round.

Positive story - I had two miscarriages with DE before a positive outcome on my next transfer. Had a hysteroscopy after second miscarriage and no issues found. Consultant said it could have acted as a scratch. Sending love. Xx
