The dreaded thing has happened this morning 😑😑We had FET on Thursday, and have been living in with my parents since, to give me total rest bless them! 🥰, however my Dad has literally tested positive for covid this morning!! 😪 He is keeping himself shut away in a room and we are moving back home later today, but we have been with him all weekend!
I'm absolutely terrified that I will get it, due to me being on steroids etc, to try and suppress my immune system because of my NK cells being high, so this means i have a lower immune system atm!
I'm just paranoid its going to affect the outcome of our lil embryo! especially so soon after its been put back🙏😢
Has anyone else been in the same situation please??

The fact that you are on steroids for an overactive immune system means that your immunity will likely be at "normal" level, so you're not actually at more of a risk than anyone else.
Also, Covid can be really mild now - if you did get it you probably wouldn't have more than a cold or feel a bit fluey - and this won't impact implantation - if your embie has settled in then no cold / flu will get rid of it so try not to worry too much.
OK that helps. Just paranoid as its so early days, as it was only Thursday i had the transfer. Just hope it has implanted and is safe!! Just guess im worried on the impact of my immune system and what they are trying to help me with so my body doesn't reject the embryo this time.
yeh ok - still very encouraging though. We've had 2 failed before, and been trying for 8yrs so really praying that this recent discovery of my high killer cells and all the meds im on will help! Im on Steriods, Fragmin & Cyclogest plus had intralipid! 🙏🙏
Hi there - were you on steroids after the transfer? My consultant recently told me I can only have steroids prior to the transfer, that’s why we went with intralipids instead…..
Although, I am slowly but surely losing faith in my consultant..
Millbanks and I had a similar protocol. I developed covid during my first transfer and while I went on to have a chemical it was nothing to do with the covid. I had lining issues that weren't dealt with by my steroid protocol. That embryo is generating its own powerbank it isnt feeding off you yet. As millbanks said a mild cold or flu isn't going to affect the outcome here.
Just keep yourself relaxed and positive. That's the best thing you can do for now . Fingers crossed for you lovely xx
hi, I didn’t get COVID until I was 12 weeks pregnant but I did get norovirus during the 2ww, on 7dp5dt 🤢 I was bed bound and vomiting for 12 hours straight and my little embryo managed just fine. They are tough little things and your body often prioritises the pregnancy and protects it from harm.
I feel for you because it is an anxious time and I was completely sure my embryo would have been disrupted when I caught norovirus but she wasn’t 💖 I caught COVID from my parents when I was 12 weeks pregnant and had flu like symptoms which were pretty horrid for 48 hours but I was so relieved to see a wriggly baby on my 12 week scan, seemingly not bothered by covid at all.
I don’t think it will disrupt your little embryo, they are very well tucked away in there. Good luck xx 🍀🍀
I’m so sorry you're going through this, especially at such a delicate time. Steroids and the medications you're on are there to protect you, and plenty of women have had positive outcomes even after being exposed to illnesses.
Take it one day at a time, focus on taking care of yourself, and hopefully you’ll stay well. Sending you positive thoughts! 🙏
I actually got what I thought was a cold, day's before egg collection then the bf caught it few days after & tested, twas covid I'd had. Thankfully I was freezing my embryos & just transferred last Thurs. Hope all goes well. x
I had covid in my two week wait and both my embryos stuck. Unfortunately I lost both at just over 7 weeks but I don't think the covid was the reason xx
I had COVID during my tww. Turns out I was exposed the day of transfer and tested positive 5 days later. The embryo stuck and I’m 19 weeks with twins. The most important thing if you did get COVID is to keep your fever down - below 38 degrees as raising your body temp is not good for embryos and pregnancy in general. I had a mildish case of COVID with some congestion, fatigue and a few days of loss of taste. I felt back to myself in about 12 days.
