Feeling blurgh, any advice for bloating?

Hey all,

Was wondering whether anyone has advice on bloating and heartburn. I'm 5dpt and it's really uncomfortable, plus I look pregnant (not helpful with the 2WW!) I think I am finding this the hardest part physically so far.

I had 19 eggs collected so I am at risk of OHSS and they said my ovaries looked swollen on my transfer ultrasound but no fluid in the abdomen. I am drinking plenty of water, no trouble peeing, no breathlessness or nausea, so not severe but very uncomfy. I do get PMS bloat generally so I reckon the progesterone pessaries aren't helping, but any experience or advice gratefully received. It's my first cycle so don't know what's 'normal' here for me. Really hope I can deflate soon!!

Thanks

In my experience that's totally normal! I've had a lot of eggs collected each time (13 and 21) and it does take quite awhile for the bloating to go down. If you don't have a transfer scheduled in soon, a hot water bottle can work wonders. And try to do a bit of steady walking and avoid any twisting motions (as this can cause torsions). STIMs can make your ovaries swell up to 3 times the size, so it can take a little while for it to go down.

Hope you start feeling better soon x

At 5dpt it's potentially late onset OHSS, thats around the time when my bloat started, then got more solid with both ovaries swollen and very painful. Best contact your clinic and see what they say. Best wishes.

Make sure drinking plenty of fluids - light diet - gentle walking exercises If uncomfortable take some paracetamol If you feel discomfort increasing best get in touch with your clinic as the 2nd post mentions

Take care
