Low sperm count picsi success stories anyone?

Hi everyone,

I have had 5 failed donor egg transfers and just today had our final donor egg thaw and fertilization. Im in a new clinic with a doctor who specializes in immune issues and selected 10 eggs from two different proven donors.

Today was the scheduled egg thaw / fertilization day so imagine my shock when the doctor let me know that my husband's sperm count was low so they could not do zymot but the lab could do picsi. I will not get an update from the lab until tomorrow on how many eggs thawed, how many were fertilized and are 2PN. This is it for us and I'm so scared that we will have nothing after 4 years of doing IVF. My husband had a normal DNA fragmentation test in June and normal sperm count but now he apparently had sperm count of 5000. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight and I need to know that there are success stories with low sperm count in IVF. Thank you if you took the time to read this and reply.

Hey! I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant with my little boy who is an ICSI/IVF baby. A 5000 sperm count is still pretty good for ICSI. Try not to worry about it too much (easier said than done, I know). Sperm count can go up and down. My husband's sperm count has been 1000, 2000, 3000 and 10,000 in the four tests he's done. There's loads of things that can impact sperm count.

Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement. I will accept all the well wishes and luck that I can . It's so hard to wait when you know this is your last shot. Congratulations on your pregnancy with your baby boy!
