Disappointed with stims response:(

Currently on day 11 of stims injections, had a scan on Tuesday ( day 8 of stims) and lining was 5mm and had around 18 follicles all around same sizes about 6-8mm was on 150 for my injections so they upped it from Tuesday to 225 now, went back today for another scan now lining is 7mm and had around 5 follicles at 10mm and rest were still small feel so disappointed was hoping for more this seems slow from what I've seen? They've told me to continue on 225 and come back Monday but if I'm not showing signs of improvement around 13/14mm in size then they may very well cancel this cycle😪 they were expecting me to respond well with my amh level being 14 and my age im 30 and no problems that we know of apart from tubal blockage. Feel so deflated after that scan now, just hoping and praying they GROW over the weekend has anyone had experience with this? Any positive stories? Xx

I've definitely found a lot can change from one scan to the next - it does at least sound like you've got those 5 starting to take off. FWIW, my AMH was around 10 and I was put on 375!(Though I was 38, now 39.) My clinic would send you for egg collection if you had 3 at 18mm+

Yeah trying to keep positive but don't feel its progressing much at all :( definitely feel they put me on a low dose to start with which hasn't done much! They did say maybe if they cancel they would start me at 300 next try, seems more accurate think they've over estimated how well I'd respond to a lower dose, so disappointed was hoping to get to egg retrieval stage but seeming low chances unless Monday comes and those 5 have jamp up, fingers crossed xx thanks for replying xx

I think on my first round I did have to have 14 days of stims, so you're definitely still in with a chance. The next round it became 11 days (same overall dose but a mixture of meds) and the final round 12 days - I just think it's really variable. I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - remember it only takes one egg!

Thank you🙏 I've seen alot of stories of growth over the few days so I'm hoping praying and everything crossed ill get some growth I've been doing well with water and protein but actually just went and bought greens powder for my smoothies to up my vitimins etc more so fingers crossed🙏x

I had a similar experience with trying to get the right dose….i was given 150 on my first round, and the last two days they put me up to 300. At EC we got 4 eggs but none fertilised. There was talk about them cancelling the round but they decided not too. I feel like the NHS round they start you on the lowest drugs possible.

My second round they started me on 300 and after 8 days, I had 10-12 growing together and they decided to coast me due to my high hormone levels in my blood results, two days later I had over 35 eggs so they cancelled my egg collection as my ovaries were over stimulating.

It’s so frustrating and stressed me out at every scan, so I know how you feel.

Wishing you all the best, I’m hoping they grow for you.

But if it doesn’t work out this time, there’s more info to go from for the next round so they can up your dose and get the maximum amount of follicles xxx

Aww bless you, such a roller coaster this experience is :( so frustrating can feel positive after 1 scan then next one is deflated again so much ups and downs, just telling myself to keep positive and if it does get cancelled hopefully next time I can start higher dose and get a much better response next time was just hoping for a chance at egg retrieval so I can be in with a chance of possibly getting our little miracle finally but what will be will be💖

CRxMRx I have everything crossed for you! My day 11 to day 13 scan my follicles really ballooned, the little ones had really picked up too. Especially if you take the trigger that's another 2 days nearly for them to catch up. I hope all goes well and you get a few leaders so you haven't gone through this stimming for nothing. It's hard enough physically and emotionally, never mind the extra cost x

I know it can all change pretty quickly so hopefully things will look better at the next scan. My clinic had me on 225 for the first 8/9 days of stims and then reduced down to 150 for the last few days. My amh is 15 and I'm 33. Ended up with 14 eggs and 9 embryos. X

Would they not try a middle ground for you? Sounds like they're going from low to high?I was on Pergoveris 225ug for 10 days and they took 5 good sized eggs. I've now got 3 frosties! I'm 43 and AMH 0.31.

Mine wasn't really gentle but also not really high. Trying a gentle approach first seems to work for many women from what I've read. Going too hard can also cause issues. So isn't there a middle ground to be sought? X

I’m slow to respond to stims(they put me on 300 and later 350) and I usually stay on them until about day 17. My follicles grow fast in the last few days, and I have gone on to get blastocysts, so don’t be discouraged.

I think 225iu is quite a low dosage. They could have increased it to 225iu from the start. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Hi,

My AMH was 50.9 so was started on 150 Bemfola. After poor response they upped me to 225 and things improved quickly, I was so worried they would cancel the cycle!

Keeping everything crossed things pick up for you too!

Thanks for everyone's comments its much appreciated💖 unfortunately the cycle has been cancelled today😪 had 1 follicle that had grown up to 16 but rest were 11 and 10s so I've to stop until October then to try a different protocol without downreg this time. Cried since the appointment feel so numb now, guess ill need to pick myself up and try again, definitely underestimated just how hard this is, I knew it would be a roller coaster and difficult but no one really prepares you for the ache on your heart with every little knock back💔
