Just wondering if anyone has had twinges, poking and cramping on and off from FET onwards? I’ve also noticed that the soreness of my breasts has almost gone as of an hour or so ago, even though I woke up with very sore boobs and have had sore boobs since half way through the oestrogen patches!
Trying my best not to symptom spot but it’s very hard as you just seem to notice more no matter how hard you try not to.
I had my first FET on Tuesday with a 5AA that thawed really well. They’ve added a lubion to my 3x cyclogest a day and i take clexane too. I woke up early hours with some period pain like cramps (not too bad) but enough to alert me. It was on and off for hours then has subsided. I had such sore boobs for the last two weeks but weirdly in the last hour or so the pain seems to have completely minimised. Should I be worried? I’m so scared the cramping means I’ve rejected the implantation and that’s why boob pain has stopped. No spotting or bleeding. I know I should try not to speculate but after a failed fresh transfer with bleeding and cramping from 7dp5dt it’s hard not to compare to that as also lost my boob pain immediately after the cramping that time but did bleed. I was on a lot less progesterone that time though.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this?
Thanks so much - feeling quite emotional today because of the worry 😞

Hello, it is so hard to symptom spot when you are on full medication. The period cramps and twinges can be really good signs. That is what implantation can feel like. Sore boobs can come and go all the way through pregnancy (if successful) and also as a side effect of drugs. Try to stay positive - you are still in the game 🙂 Lubion is also much more effective at holding off your period so you can't really compare at all to your last cycle. (I had the same on my first fresh transfer but with lubion the only time I had any breakthrough bleeding in 4 subsequent cycles was a chemical). Fingers crossed 🤞 xx
Thanks so much for replying, that’s really helpful. I know I need to wait for OTD which isn’t until 12th but I think it’s knowing an embryo is onboard that makes you notice everything that you wouldn’t in a natural 2ww.
Thanks so much and good to know about the lubion. I do think it’s what I need as I don’t seem to fully absorb all the cyclogest it seems.
I’m sorry to hear about the chemical and hope things have worked out since for you! X
Absolutely, you are constantly listening for everything, and also the drugs cause so many side effects that you can't see the wood from the trees. My advice is strongly to wait for test date, and enjoy the time you have believing it could be working for as long as you can.I am currently 13 weeks on our sixth transfer, and I only got strong period cramps and twinges on my BFP round 🤞 I waited until test date on my last few rounds after the chemical and didn't regret it. I did however always regret testing early!
Oh that’s such amazing news! So happy for you and sounds like so, so deserved after your journey. It’s so hard when you see negative tests. I really appreciate the advice and am definitely waiting to test. I actually feel more than happy to wait as you say, I want to sit with hope that it could have worked for as long as I can. I did have a natural pregnancy that resulted in an early miscarriage. Since then I had one failed round of IVF fresh transfer but it was a very early blastocyst and I feel may have been chemical. This time, frozen with 5AA. Fingers crossed and thanks so much - sending all the wishes in the world for your baby on board! 🌈💜
Your breast soreness is probably due to the progesterone and as your body gets used to it your symptoms will fluctuate. It absolutely doesn't mean it's not worked.
I had lots of little (barely noticeable) cramps during my last FET (on and off) and it was positive so I would take this as a good sign.
However the best thing to do is try not to over analyse anything becuase there is no concrete sign that its worked other than a test.
Thanks so much. It really helps to just hear others experiences as it can feel a lonely journey. I really appreciate the response and Thankyou for the positivity! It’s obviously really nice for them not to be so sore 😂 but in this situation it can be more of a worry. So good to know your story too and so happy that it worked for you! Thankyou! And I know it’s still very early days x
You're welcome - it's a tough road for sure! If it helps I never had any breast soreness on my successful transfers. Most symptoms are just the meds as Willowpark says.
I had cramps 3dpo for about a day and a half on my successful transfer. I didn’t think it at the time but it lines up with when implantation would happen so I presume it must have been implantation cramps as I didn’t get it from progesterone. I was convinced it hadn’t worked because my sore boobs vanished around that time too (and never really came back).
It’s so so tough not to symptom spot and the TWW is the longest time. I really hope it works out for you 🤞🏻 ❤️
Thanks so much for your reply! That’s so interesting to hear you had similar. Thanks for the wishes and advice so glad to hear your test was positive too! That’s so great x
I would back up what everyone else has said here. I had cramps at 3dp too and went onto have a successful transfer! The boob thing as well, I just don’t think it’s a reliable symptom for us going through ivf. I barely had sore boobs until about week 8/9 and even then, they’re not awful. Wishing you the very best of luck! I think it sounds good so far, and the extra progesterone is what I think did it for me too. Trust in the process, it will happen for you 🩷 xx
Thanks so much. It’s so hard not to symptom spot. Sore boobs have come back a bit but I’ve also noticed that I’m getting mild cramps very soon after I put the cyclogest pessary in so I think it’s the progesterone giving me all these cramps. I feel so full of it! Lol I’ve had twinges and mild cramps since the transfer on and off!
I think I worry as I’ve been pregnant before and miscarried and always had sore nipples but mustn’t compare particularly as I’m only 4 days past the transfer. You wouldn’t probably even have any pregnancy symptoms yet even if it had worked! Thanks so much for replying - I’m so glad to hear your transfer was successful! That’s amazing 🤩 xx
I think it’s impossible during the Tww to not symptom spot - it’s literally all you can think about. But you’re right! You probably won’t feel any symptoms until a lot later down the line. I think it’s almost certainly down to the pessaries causing you the discomfort. You’ve got this round, wishing you lots of luck for the rest of your TWW xx
Hi there, yes I did! To my absolute shock! I’ve had on and off cramping for a while but it’s fairly mild. Everything is expanding and moving and we’re also paying so much more attention to it than we usually would.
Oh brilliant news congratulations 😊 hoping and praying we get our BFP, we only had one egg retrieved and transferred day 2, just hope little embryo sticks around ☺️ x
Oh that gives me hope 🙏 as we had our embryo transfer day 2 they couldn’t do the usual grading but we got told ours was a 4-3-3 which is a top grade embryo so fingers crossed! My consultant keeps saying all we need is one 😊
