does anyone know what causes an egg not to be mature? We have just done our 7th egg collection and the egg was not mature. I asked the embryologist why this would be and she said she couldn’t answer that and she would ask a Dr to answer it.
We did a modified natural round this time less drugs to try have less eggs of better quality.
does anyone know why an egg is not mature and is there anything I can do or anything that influences this??
thanks

sorry to hear that but don’t give up!.. for me it happened when I spilled a bit of substance from the HCG trigger shot. After that experience I was buying 2 dozes of HCG and injected 120% of what the doctors said just to be sure.. that really made a difference for me. Hope it will work for you next time!
Hi thanks for your reply! I had two doses of ovitrelle trigger and didn’t spill any I really don’t know what’s what! Do you think it can happen if collection is too early? Xx
Hello my dear, I have the same thing. They said it was down to my age and low ovarian reserve, but my periods are short too which probably contributes.
I imagine your clinic would have been conducting pelvic examinations along with the drugs. Keep an eye on how big your follicles are, my clinic told me it's better to grow them steadily and hold off the collection until they have reached a good size... Now, this impacts us all very differently. In my opinion, I don't think many clinics know how to deal with egg maturity.
However, all the clinics I have been to swear by Impryl tablets and the data looks good. I currently undergoing a very experimentational couple of procedures: LLLT and PRP, this will hopefully put a bit of life into my ovaries. My next egg collection will be in November when the new set of eggs should have formed. The proof will be in the pudding, as I shall be very interested to see the data.
Send me a message if you want to chat further, I wish you all the very best ❤️
Honestly hun, there are so many procedures available to us. I have heard a lot of people in the US going down the non-evasive route such as biohacking and alternative treatments, instead of IVF, as the success rates are apparently comparable to IVF - and a lot cheaper.
*These treatments are currently classed as experimental as they haven't collected enough data*.
PRP (Palelet-Rich Plasma) is where your blood is placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. It is injected it into your ovaries to turn back the clock a bit. It's used to improve a few other ailments like hair growth and muscle injury (only a short-term fix mind).
The LLLT (Low-Level Laser Therapy) is a very interesting one. The laser stimulates the cells in the ovaries and 'activates' them. -
Although, again, they can be expensive. It's hard to get a straight answer from clinicians, they are noticing positive results from these treatments, but is it enough? I hope I can be another statistic.
It gets tiring reading about it all but we have to keep fighting and working on it. One day soon, the stork will come. xx
