About to start my first IVF round 💜 Freeze all & transfer question!

Hi all!

After 3 years of TTC and plenty of stumbling blocks along the way, we're about to start our first round of IVF. The consultant has recommended freeze all & transfer cycle due to my risk of OHSS.

Would love to hear from anyone who went through the same what the time gap was between egg retrieval and embryo transfer? I know it will be different for everyone but trying to get a rough idea of what others did to calm my racing mind 😂

I had egg collection end of February and did a freeze all cycle. After withdrawal bleed plus one normal period, the transfer was mid-May.

I had a freeze-all cycle because of my polycystic ovaries/OHSS but also because I had my embryos tested. I had egg collection at the end of March and had my transfer earlier in July. However, I waited 3 periods because I needed to manage my thyroid - if I hadn't had to, I'd have had my FET at the start of June after 2. So not too long!

I was frustrated with the longer wait but actually I found that extra time really valuable, to live life a bit more freely for a while.

Hello, it’s very important to freeze embryos and not eggs for older age.

Hi. Give yourself time to recover, then you be able to have a transfer, your embryos will be quite sa&e, waiting for you. I hear about lots of successes from freeze all cycles. Good luck Diane
