just wondered if anyone could offer some advice. Following my fourth ivf transfer, luckily I tested positive and now I should be 5 weeks pregnant. However yesterday whilst at work I was pulling a door and all of a sudden all of my pregnancy symptoms disappeared. My belly went from hard to soft and I’m no longer thirsty or tired. I also had some brown and pink spotting. Not sure if this is the start of a miscarriage 😞

loss of pregnancy symptoms
I had the same exact thing happen to me at 5 weeks. Brown/pink spotting and loss of symptoms. Turns out spotting is quite common in ivf pregnancies especially and the symptoms come and go but don’t necessarily mean miscarriage. My doctor told me when to worry a little more is bright red bleeding (heavier) and cramping. I’m currently 9.5 weeks. My spotting lasted 3 weeks. It was nerve racking but I kept telling myself it was normal. Wishing you the best and keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I'd talk to your consultant to check. But it's still very possible that everything is fine. My pregnancy symptoms disappeared around 5-7 weeks (and this coincided with brown spotting at 6 weeks). I also had a full on bleed with red, watery blood at 7 weeks and I was devasted and convinced I'd miscarried. It turned out to be a ruptured blood sac, which is really quite common after a FET and doesn't harm the baby. My pregnancy symptoms came back in full force at 8 weeks. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant. So, from someone whose pregnancy symptoms disappeared around about the same time as yours, experienced brown spotting and a full on bleed during weeks 5-7, there's still a lot of hope! So keep taking your meds. Sending you lots of luck and baby dust! X
Thank you and many congratulations 🥰
Pregnancy is so scary. Did your symptoms all disappear altogether at the same time? Thanks x
Yep! I went from feeling dizzy, hot and nauseous to suddenly feeling nothing. Then the brown spotting came. Because we were just past the 6 week mark they could do a viability scan which showed the baby was still there with a heart beat. I couldn't believe it! But a few days later, while walking up the stairs, I felt like I'd wet myself. I looked in my underwear and it was just blood. I managed to get a hospital appointment and baby was fine, but they noticed a pocket in my womb. The nurse explained that's where the blood had come from and it's really quite common after a FET. Apparently when a FET implants it can create a pocket that's full of blood. Sometimes the body reabsorbs it and sometimes it comes out. She also explained that because the womb isn't a smooth surface and there's loads of nooks and crannies, blood can often get stuck and then suddenly come out at a much later date. Symptoms came back at 8 weeks and I felt as sick as a dog until about 18 weeks! X
hi lovely, there’s always a possibility that it’s not good, but most likely it’s just a part of pregnancy, around then the very early symptoms can go and in about a week or two you may wish you never worried when sickness sets in!
Spotting wise this is pretty common, I even had quite a lot of bleeding between weeks 5-8 which was scary. Turns out it was a hematoma but everything was fine in the end 😊
Keeping everything crossed for you- it’s definitely a very stressful time! Xxx
