I need your opinions here. So today was my 9th day of stimulating and 1st scan which showed 2 follicles on the right and 4 on the left down from 5 on the right and 7 on the first day of stimulation.
Also, on the first day of stimulating I was given menopur and the second day i was given Cetrolex before restarting to another stimulating drug that I don't know, but its not manopur.
Apparently my Dr. gave me cetrolex on the second day becouse he will not be around on day 14 for collection so my collection was pushed two days ahead of schedule.
Then cetrotide was restarted on the 8th day of stimulating
I am now wondering where my other follicles disappeared to. Could I have ovulated ealier and the clinic isn't telling me?
I would love to hear from you ×××

hi there, I had 2+2 follicles during a previous cycle and half way through the stims they reduced to 2+1 (actually 2+0 right before collection). The doctor said the number can vary by sonographer or sometimes the follicle can collapse on itself if the egg isn’t good quality and dies off. Or possible premature ovulation but on the scan there was no evidence of a ruptured follicle indicating that had happened.
Of course I was upset about the disappearing follicles and we almost cancelled but decided to go ahead. We got 4 eggs despite the situation, so you never really know what is in there until the collection, but totally understand how stressful it is when numbers are low to begin with. Hoping it all turns ok for you!
Sorry to hear this. I’ve had this happen and asked and been given two answers.
1. Each person who scans may or may not detect some follicles or something they think is a follicle when scanning, so some difference between clinicians - this is only if they are small.
2. In stims the ones been plotted on the graph kept decreasing in number they advised they don’t plot them if they aren’t growing, the only plot the growing ones.
I hope this maybe helps you. Wishing you lots of luck - don’t loose hope xx
