Hyper - Stimulating OHSS - so many follicles

Ok, so latest blood test is showing OHSS which is why I have over 33 follicles right ovary and and 15 left ovary the biggest being 28mm!!! So starting on a short course of Carbergoline. Egg collection still set for friday, then egg transfer monday or weds depending on blastocyst.

Talk to them about the embryo transfer. Because you need your body to calm down sufficiently before that takes place.

I totally agree with Sanchia. If your body is so wound up from the drugs it would be better to collect the eggs now and then transfer in a few months once your body has recovered. Many clinics are now starting to do this in all cycles. Like everything - not totally proven but completely makes sense.

Hiya. I had OHSS on my first ICSI cycle. I don't remember how many folliclesI had but had 37 eggs retrieved, 21 fertilised, 8 made it to day 5/6 blast. There is a trigger injection they can give which lessens the likelihood of OHSS which I wasn't given but given on my 2nd fresh cycle (but was told after a misscarrage that this is not thought to not support pregnancy, so ask about that - I can find out the name if you like). OHSS isn't nice, I didn't manage to get out of bed from egg collection until transfer day. I was sick and in alot of pain. I do wonder if they ever should have transferred the embryo tbh...my body was fighting an illness. I got AF 5 days after transfer...not sure if it was due to OHSS or the medication but my NHS treatment has been a shambles, very one side fits all, no personalisation at all....may explain why with perfect fertility (husband has obstructive azoospermia) I'm on my 5th round. So sorry for the rant...if I were you I'd seek advice from the clinic on whether or not they think you have a chance of success. If you get alot of embryos and they think you have a good chance why not pop one back in....it will count as a round regardless of whether you have a transfer.

Hi, I've tried to contact my hospital but can't get a reply yet, I also have woken up with an awful cold so really feeling sorry for myself. I had to do an injection last night ready for egg collection tomoz, not sure if same injection as you mentioned. I'm also taking a horrible med for 5 days to help stop over stimming. This is my 1st trial and I have no idea how I'm supposed to feel, I'm quite an anxious person and also not very good at waiting, thank you for your support xxx

Have spoken to the hospital, all should be ok egg collection tomoz, g it my OHSS clarified, it not too bad just on the high side, so they don't think I'll have any problems , I forget that the nurses are so easy to talk to xx
