I am looking for anyone else who has gone for a triple frozen transfer. I am 42, turning 43 in October and have had two failed fresh transfers, one with a 4AB graded embryo and another with a 3AB and 3BB (double fresh transfer). I have three frozen embryos left from this donor sperm so have requested a triple transfer (first frozen transfer). They are graded 4AB, 4BB, 4BC. The decision to do the triple is financial and also I would be keen to switch the donor sperm if these don’t work and do another collection so don’t want to waste any embryos.
I am having more meds this time to try and support implantation so feeling nervous of possible outcomes. I’m looking for some shared experiences. My transfer is booked on Tuesday so I have until Monday to make the final decision but the clinic support the decision if I want to go ahead. Thanks

Not exactly the same but I’ve Had 2x triple fresh transfers with fairly good embryos. Neither worked. Because my first ivf was double transfer and I only ended up with one pregnancy from those two embryos (I was 41 at the time of egg collection), I think my clinic had no qualms about doing triple, on the 2nd and 3rd cycles. I think they knew that the chances of having 3 good enough quality embryos for them all to take at my age was super slim and they suggested triple transfer to give more chance. Of course there is always a risk and we have to weigh it up but I do believe in our age bracket if using OE then the chances of multiples is lower, but I’m not a doctor of course and just going by what my clinic said at the time.
I hope you can come to a decision that’s right for you without too much stressing. IVF is forever about decision making and the pressure is a lot. Stay strong.xxx
Thanks so much for your reply. It means a lot. I think I will go for the triple, as you say age is against me so statistically it’s even more unlikely. Good luck with your journey. It is brutal at times isn’t it xx
hello I just wanted to say good luck for your transfer day I hope it all works out for you! Don’t worry so much about age as many, many women these days have babies in their 40s! My friend had her son at 42 and my sister has a baby at 39 nearly 40… try not to stress as that does not help our body at all xx good luck!
