Prep For Frozen Transfer

Hi Team!

I have had 2 embryos frozen (planned fresh but polyp needs to be removed). This is my first ivf cycle.

7.7 AMH age 40 so happy with 2 eggs and they have suggested to have both transferred together.

I want to use this time now to get in the best possible position for the FT.

Any advice, diet / supplements?

I eat limited to no process food, fish twice a week, lots of green veg and fruit, full fat yogurt and take vitamin C / D, zinc and Folic acid.

TIA

Sounds like you’ve got it covered!! Beetroot juice is good to help with blood flow and gentle exercise to get the blood moving is good too. Best of luck xx

Thank you Millbanks. I will look into Beetroot juice and blood lowing is a good point. I’ll make sure I get out for some good out of breath walks! X

I was told to avoid food in plastics. Which is actually really hard overall. So just do what you can. I went carb low to lower my weight a bit but that meant lots of veg too. I went for acupuncture and I was told to swap my supplement with folic acid to one with naturally occurring folic acid as some women reject the synthetic one. I like you had polyps and needed them removed - it shouldn’t take long then you’ll be able to carry on with the transfer. Oh I was a coffee fiend so I also went decaf.

Thank you. I will look more into food / plastics. I had been having reflexology and I will definitely looking into the folic acid x

I think the diet is more relevant to collection if anything as lot with the FET is about the meds (if medicated) or your hormones so don't worry too much (especially given the festive season!). There's some evidence about inflammatory foods, plastics, microbiome etc which might affect your hormones and general inflammation but having a healthy balance overall is probably all to aim for and not going extreme - sounds like you're already very healthy. I carried on from my collection with more good fats and took b, c & d vits, ubiquinol, omegas, and folate rather than folic acid. Advice is to avoid vit A from transfer. There are things like raspberry leaf and beetroot that are meant to help with lining and blood flow. I didn't give up anything really but I'm pretty much allergic to caffeine so was never big on that. I think mainly it was finding the right meds for me on my FET but being healthy and feeling good can't hurt at all. Best of luck x

Thank you. I’m a lover of coffee, it’s been hard but I have been reducing the amount right down to a few a week but it was hard! I think something like yoga would be good all round for me as well. Thank you for your reply x

Hi Lola, fellow coffee lover here 👋🏻 I mix one packet of decaf with a quarter of a packet of caffeinated coffee in a tin so I can still have one “real” (but not v strong!) coffee every morning at home.
