Consultant appt tomorrow? Any tips on what to ask.

We’ve had our NHS funding cover one fresh and one frozen transfer. We’ve got an appointment tomorrow for a private FET transfer with our last embryo.

I’m now 39, we’ve been trying for two years. We had 4 blastocysts from our EC in May 23.

-Fresh transfer - BFN.

-One month post fresh - spontaneous pregnancy - Chemical pregnancy.

-First FET cancelled - low progesterone.

- FET (cyclogest + utrogestan) - BFN.

- One didn’t survive the thaw.

- One embryo remaining.

We had NHS funding out of a satellite clinic with our collections, transfers and storage at a private clinic nearby.

We’ve got a consultant appointment with them tomorrow and we’re trying to think of things to ask for any changes going forward. Testing, supplements, medicated vs natural FET? We hope that this next FET works but if not our plan is to do one more egg collection so have limited chances to get this right.

Hope you get some replies to your post that will be helpful This forum is an excellent source of support and information Maybe you could ask about low dosage aspirin and/or heparin as this is thought to encourage blood flow to the womb Be sure to ask clinic what other test they could suggest such as ERA[ test to check timing of implantation ]

Take care

Good luck with your appointment and next steps.

We were in a similar position around this time last year. We had 4 embryos and our consultant advised us to do another egg collection round before having them all PGT-A tested and proceeding with the next transfer. For us it was largely due to age, I was 41 at the time.

We decided to go straight ahead with the testing and then transfer the 1 x normal embryo we were left with. Unfortunately this resulted in a BFN so with hindsight we should have taken the advice to do another egg collection sooner as we then later had 3 additional cycles and a second round of testing.

I’m not saying your situation will be the same but my advice would be not to rush into a decision, as tempting as it is - just think through you options carefully.

Also maybe ask about using embryo glue, we were successful with it in our recent FET.

All the best x
