Sorry TMI - cyclogest rectally leakage??

Hi,

I'm about 8 and a half weeks after IVF and been taking cyclogest rectally throughout. Tonight exactly 32 mins after inserting my cyclogest I went to the toilet just for a wee but liquid (and the usual wax) came out the back end (!). I'm so worried as I don't know if I need to have another but then if I do could I cause harm if its actually been absorbed?

Sorry its not pleasant!

I’m pretty sure that the gynaecologist told me they absorb really quite quickly. But there was one day I used one and I forgot so I did another one. The doctor said it was fine my body would just absorb what it needed xxx

OMG I know exactly what you mean! I’m the same stage as you and was advised to switch to the back as the front way was making me spot. But I hate the back way! It feels horrible! They do leak, which ever way you use them but I’ve been reassured that the progesterone is absorbed very quickly when the wax melts and it is just the wax that leaks out. It’s so gross though - I can’t wait to finish them x

Hi,

Have you tried to squeeze your butt cheeks for around 30secs after you have inserted the pessaries? This helps the muscles to push them in further… because if you are not pushing them in far enough then you will experience the leakage. This is from my personal experience.

Hi. Always go to the toilet before inserting the pes start. However, the me dictation is absorbed within 20-30 minutes of insertion. Diane
