Natural FET coming up embryo 4BC..advice & support

Hi all, this is my first time posting. I've had quite the fertility journey (as i'm sure most on here have also), and wanted to draw on your experience and thoughts on how to manage to TWW.

A bit about my journey. I'm 41 and have been on the IVF rollercoaster for 5 years. Ive had 6 cycles of IVF/ISCI, two pregnancies (one ended in TDMR at 14 weeks, and the other MMC at 10 weeks).

The response to treatment hasn't been great as I have a low AMH, and my husband has poor morphology. Out of the 6 cycles we have been lucky to get 7 embryos (of which only 2 have stuck). We have our final 4BC embryo being transferred in the next couple of days. I fear that if this doesn't work then this will be the end of the road using my own eggs.

I wondered if anyone has any words of wisdom? hope? success? advice on how to manage the TWW whilst juggling with feelings of excitement, fear and deep uncertainty.

....I know they are not easy things to answer, but would really appreciate hearing from you🙂 thank you

Sorry to hear about your losses. I've had 4 failed transfers and one 1 chemical pregnancy and it's absolutely awful, each and every time. I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant, but it was a long road to get here.

A couple of things I did:

- I got accupuntcure the day before transfer, the morning of the transfer, and the day after the transfer. There's some evidence that it helps, but really the main benefit for me was that it relaxed me.

- My DH bought some funny games we could play together. When I'm stressed I can find it difficult to concentrate on TV programmes, and the games were a good bonding activity we could play on the evening.

- Spend some time with friends. I had a works leaving do the evening after my transfer and I was debating whether to go or not. I ended up going and enjoying myself, and it can't have done any harm as the embryo stuck in!

- Keep warm. Maybe a bit of an old wives tale, but I was advised to keep warm. So wrap up if you go outside.

It's always a stressful time, no matter what you do. But those were some things that helped me. Sending you luck and baby dust X

Hi Cyclingaddict, thank you for your message xx

You’ve been through it too. I’m sorry to hear about your loss.

Thank you for the ideas. I do really need to plan some nice things to do…currently all I have is going on walks…which are lovely but I need some variety! I might see if my accupunturist can fit me in the day after too. I’m seeing her on the day of transfer.

A huge congratulations on your pregnancy and getting to the second trimester. Sending you love and courage for the rest of the pregnancy 💕 xx

I’m not sure what made the difference, but for me this time what was different:

Drink LOTS of water. Was told the uterus is the last place it reaches.

Move. I made sure after the first few days that I was more active such as just puttering round or going for a walk than previous transfers. Keep the blood flowing to the uterus. But as soon as I felt any cramps or twinges I stopped and rested on the sofa.

Keep feet warm. Warm feet = warm uterus.

I was taking lots of extra supplements before transfer and I stopped them all after this time I read they all weren’t recommended in pregnancy.

Stay positive - positive thoughts attract positive responses. Think about babies, dream about babies, daydream about babies 🙈

Good luck!! 👶🏼 ✨
