Hi, I am 6 weeks 2 days pregnant after my FET and yesterday out of nowhere I experienced cramps/ period pain and bleeding for 2-3 hours , I’ve spotting since the bleed stopped.Had a scan today and to my surprise I haven’t miscarried yet however there is a large bleeding close to embryo( which was looking ok seen heartbeat too). I will contact my clinic in Prague but had the scan in the afternoon and doubt will hear back until tomorrow morning. In the pic attached on the left is the embryo and basically everything else is the bleed.Anyone else been trough something similar? Is it just a matter of time till the inevitable will happen?

I know how scary this is- you are at higher risk of miscarriage BUT it doesn’t mean you defo will the bleeds can sometimes rectify themselves. If you take a look at my posts from 2020 you will see my experience with a subchorionic hematoma and weeks and weeks of horrendous bleeding but I have a perfectly healthy little boy from that round. The EPU here should be able to support you with this and weekly scans as your clinic is abroad so I hope they are 💜 I had bed rest for a few weeks only getting up to pee and took a few weeks off work (I am never off work!) and it cleared up by week 10. Did they tell you the size of the hematoma and whether it was near your cervix by any chance? Mine had slightly detached the placenta and formed beside the embryo was why I was at higher risk of miscarriage and could go either way but it was okay in the end. What are your next step are you getting scanned again next week? Xx
thank you for your message this is so reassuring, had a look at your posts(ps. your boy is gorgeus).I don’t think I was mentally prepared for this but as long as there is a heartbeat there is hope.My clinic replied today and recommended to take 7 days of Prolutex injections and to have another scan next week. I tried to get the injections but in Wales they don’t accept the prescription so I’ll go to an EPU tomorrow and try to get an UK prescription. The embryo is 3.5mm and the hematoma is 34.4mm , they didn’t mention position of the hematoma, my clinic basically said to rest ( but can work ) and to take care, I was dreading bed rest I can’t stay 2 days in bed with flu but I am trying now just to go to work and rest in bed after x x
Hi Alma - this is so scary I know but I jumped on here to tell you my scary turned out ok. I had bleeding from week 6 to 12 . A few days it was so heavy I was convinced it would go the same way as my other transfers I.e miscarriage. But it didn’t - I have a cheeky one year old after all that anxiety. The bleeding resolved itself .
I sent myself crazy googling sizes of heamatomas etc .. if you feel anxious , you are totally normal. I wish you a happy ending ❤️
Hi Alma. Too much anxiety for you, I’m sure. But hey, there is a strong little heartbeat there, so hopefully, when you have your next scan, you will see a good increase in size. Thinking of you lots. Diane
Hello lovely,
It's what's known as a subchorionic haematoma - these are really common in IVF pregnancies for some reason....?
I had a huge one at 17 weeks (10 x 6 cm) and all was fine - it was terrifying and I had a weekly scan while we waited for the bleeding to stop (which took 4 weeks).
But all was fine in the end. xx
yes, my clinic confirmed today is a subchorionic haematoma is about 3.4 cm but I am still very early in pregnancy so they said I have a higher risk of misscariage. I’m glad yours turn out ok, this gives me hope 🙏 x
