I'm 4 days into my IVF stims (225iu meriofert) and just had my first scan to see how things are going. Progress looks OK, maybe a little lacklustre but they aren't too worried at this point.
But my tricky left ovary could be causing issues - it is stuck behind my uterus (always has been, at least for as long as I've been having scans for the past few years) but the doctor really struggled to get to it today. She said it may be unreachable for egg collection, which is a bit of a knock - to lose a whole ovary worth of eggs isn't ideal at all. She said it could still change if my follicles grow big enough and if it is mobile enough on egg retrieval day.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has had anything similar and if it actually ended up working out OK and that doctors can reach such a troublesome ovary? Trying not to worry too much but it is low-key concerning me right now.

Hi Orange at mum. I’ve seen eggs retrieved from som well stuck ovaries, so fingers crossed with yours. Try lying on the opposite side at night, you never know it might encourage it to move a little! Good luck. Diane
Hi thereI had the same issue with my right ovary, it was also stuck behind my uterus but they still managed to collect eggs from it once I was under sedation for the collection so don't give up hope!
My left ovary is also very difficult to access but they’ve always managed to access it. 2 out of 3 cycles they have had to puncture my uterus to access it through my uterus. As I’m under sedation that’s not an issue for me, a bit sore after. Main issue is it means I can’t have the embryo transfer that cycle but they have always prioritised getting the eggs.
