I had a private scan after some bleeding and was told I was 8 &3 and saw a heartbeat and was told all looked OK and was just spotting.Went the the hospital 2 days later as EPU finally returned my call and booked me in. The doctor did an internal which was very painful and caused me to tell him to stop for second before resuming. After he said that all looked well and cervix was closed. He said that he had found the source of my bleeding in my cervix and said it was a polyp that had ruptured. He used standard machine and did an external scan and said everything looked fine 'good blood supply and fetal heartbeat detected' He said that he would send me to get a clearer scan for my reassurance. My husband and I were elated and went down for a scan 30 minutes later.
During the scan we sat there smiling expecting to get a clearer picture of the heartbeat and were told (unsypathetically) there wasn't one.
We were taken to a small room and lots of information was given about miscarriage and treatment.....none of it I took in. Today I am just in shock how could it be fine one minute and not the next? Anybody had a simular experience.
I now have to decide whether to have a medical procedure to remove the fetus or let nature take its course?

I'm so sorry to hear this 💔 I feel your pain. Last April we got our first BFP. We went to the early pregnancy clinic for a check up and were told there were 2 sacs but only one heartbeat. They thought the other was maybe a few days behind so arranged for us to go back the following week. This is when we were told there was no longer a heartbeat, we were 9 weeks. We were in complete shock, like you we were given options but nothing goes in, I didn't want to hear it. In the end we decided on surgical management.
It's tough but you're not alone. Take time to process your own thoughts and emotions. I'm here if you need to ask any questions. Take care xx
I don’t want to mess with your emotions but personally I would allow nature to take its course - purely on the basis of - what if the 2nd Dr was wrong?? Or was just a slow starter and baby needs time to pick up?
Baffling how one Dr has said everything is fine heartbeat detected, and then 30 minutes later you’ve been told it’s gone.
For that reason I’d leave it to nature even if there’s a time ounce of hope
