Hi :)

Has anyone been on Prostrap for down regulation before? I have a my FET due in Feb. I took my 1st injection around 2.5 weeks ago and due my 2nd end of this month. Today I noticed I had a bleed (not the same as a period but a sufficient amount). Not sure what’s happening but I have messaged my clinic m. Does anyone have any advice or experience on Prostrap?

Many thanks xx

yes we down reg with prostrap for frozen transfers so had it many many times 🤪 you are supposed to get a bleed around 10-14 days after you take it. Our clinic then check your lining is thin enough from that bleed and start to give meds to build it back up (eostrogen) so all sounds pretty normal to me! Xx

Sorry to jump in on this post. I usually have prostap before FET but this last transfer I didn’t. I had spotting a few days before I started pessaries and then a bleed before transfer (quite a lots but just once). Do you know why my clinic wouldn’t have given me prostap (used failed transfer bleed to start again)? This last transfer just didn’t feel right to me right from the off. It was also straight after (a few weeks) a chemical so wonder if that caused issues?

Not all clinics down reg before FET so sounds like they’ve went with your own cycle? Or did they down reg with something else? I’m not sure I’ve had a natural FET too where they just timed with ovulation and no prostap but my cycle was regular at that point. Chemicals can definitely mess with your cycle my clinic wait to the bleed after a failed transfer or a chemical to get a ‘reset’ cycle before stating anything else (which is an annoying delay but I can see why!) xx

I think there was after the last failed transfer and another time where they didn’t down reg. Maybe the time we did natural cycle. So sounds like they tried natural cycle too after my last failed FET. Just didn’t feel right though without a proper period after the chemical. Thankyou that makes sense now.

This time they just cancelled my follow up appt after failed transfer (Dr I’ll) so looks like I’ll have proper period soon which I’ll miss using to start again and end up with 2 proper bleeds before next FET. Maybe that will do me good getting all meds out my system for a proper proper reset. X

Thank you that sounds reassuring! My bleed was almost 3 weeks after my first Prostrap injection and my 2nd is due soon! My period pain is really bad this time :( I thought the injection was suppose to help the endo!
