Hi I've just had a fresh transfer and am worried about stopping taking progesterone too early. Can I request to take it for longer than they suggest?

In my clinic they usually keep the initial dose until 12-14th week and then reduce little by little until stop at 14-16th week. But probably the protocol of your clinic is also good... Good luck!!
my initial progesterone prescription was 3 wks, they then extended another 3 wks, my scan is next week and I will ask then if they will prescribe more. If you feel you need more have that conversation x wish you well x
for a fresh transfer we stop after test day but on my last transfer I asked (after BFP) and they were happy I stayed on it longer (history of previous misscariage). I did a private HCG and progesterone test at 6 weeks and my progesterone was through the roof so think I didn’t need it tbh . I wouldn’t worry about it now until you do your test and in most cases with a Fresh transfer your body starts making progesterone (unlike frozen transfers where I was on progesterone until about 13 weeks). But defo ask your clinic about progesterone if it’s positive if you feel there’s a reason to think your levels are low or have any spotting etc xx
I took it until 12 weeks then stopped which is what my clinic advised, and went cold turkey rather than phasing it out. But each clinic is different I guess.
At my clinic they advised to take it until my test day, and if it was positive to keep taking it, if not, to stop it and re-test later. I think that after a positive test, it depends on the blood tests and the progesterone levels
Hi, I did ivf in Belgium, I'm 16 weeks pregnant and still on progesterone, my levels haven't been tested. My gynecologist said he will decide when i stop them as we go along.
