displaced implantation window - can I still conceive naturally?

hi ladies,

I hope you’re all well? I’ve not been on here for a while, been trying to heal after my unsuccessful IVF journey 😢

During my treatment, they discovered through the ERA that I needed an extra 12 hours of progesterone before transfer, therefore my window was displaced.

My question is does that affect implantation when trying naturally?

we have decided against further IVF treatment and so we’re just trying naturally and hoping for a miracle.

I did catch in April but sadly ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks (4th miscarriage) so I wondered if it’s because it didn’t implant properly.

Any thoughts or advice would be amazing.

thanks xx

Hello lovely,

I hope you're doing well and healing after your journey - it's so rough and I'm pleased to hear that you have decided to do what feels right for you. Such a hard decision. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage (s) - so heartbreaking 💔

As I understand it your window of implantation (from the ERA) is only specific to a frozen embryo transfer. When you are trying naturally, once you've ovulated the follicle starts to produce the progesterone (which would be mimicked in an FET) but your body will know when the best WIP is under normal circumstances. So for example if your egg was fertilised say 3 days after you ovulated, it would be likely to implant on day 5 or 6 - but your body will know which is it - if that makes sense.

I would imagine that a miscarriage would be more likely down to chromosomal abnormalities rather than the WIP. But I'm not a fertility expert - it's just the information that I've gathered over the years!

Sending much love to you and luck for your miracle baby xxx

Hey Millbanks,

I’m ok thanks ☺️ been a testing few years but I’m looking forward to next year and the rest.

Hope you’re ok too!!

Thanks for coming back to me - I hoped that would be the case but wasn’t sure! I’m using progesterone cream after ovulation to help support my natural response too.

Will of course keep you all posted if any miracles do happen!! Xx

That's a good idea!

I actually used progesterone for a while when TTC naturally as I know I have a short luteal phase - and it definitely stopped the early spotting.

much love xx
