Hi everyone. Just a wee update that i forgot to do. Might give someone some hope. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in August 23, 3rd round of ivf, only 1 viable embroyo left after 9 eggs collected. Grade C embroyo and it worked, (i now take little regard to the grading of embroyos) as i fully expected it to fail. I was 42, 3 weeks from my 43rd birthday with my own eggs. I was absolutely shocked when told i was pregnant, this was our last round, we were out of money and i just couldn't do it anymore.
Some things that might be useful to others but i really do think its such an unfair luck of the draw.
I seemed to produce a decent amount of eggs for my age, 21 eggs at aged 41, 12 and 9, had 2 failed double embroyo transfers and 1 successful. They advised me to do a double again with a 'fair' embroyo and a slow growing one. I declined this after my own research, i didn't want another double transfer. My instinct told me to give the 'fair' one a chance on its own.
Not sure if it matters but i followed sort of the diet of 8 bits fruit n veg a day, went no sugar or alcohol for 4 months as did my husband, i took zita west supplements and fish oil, but had done this before with no success but was v strict for last round regards alcohol etc, both of us.
Really not sure if any of this helped? Or just lucky.
Wee baby boy born by emergency section after a failed induction but he is perfect and i am still in shock that hes here! Happy to answer any questions if it might help?
Ps: I found the Aberdeen University ivf calculator very helpful to give me a more individualised success chance based on individual stats.
