Discomfort and bloating after miscarriage

I had medical management on Friday following a missed miscarriage. The embryo measured just under 9 weeks. The bleeding has reduced but I have had such severe trapped wind type pain in my lower abdomen and sometimes my back. Has anyone experienced this before and how long did it take to ease? I did think may be it’s due to not being as active and eating a lot more comfort food?

Hi there, so sorry for your loss. It’s such a horrible time. We had a blighted ovum (I was approx 10/11 weeks pregnant) when I was rushed into hospital due to bleeding and had a small op. I bled and had symptoms for about 2 weeks or so afterwards. Look after yourself. Xx

I’m so so sorry you have went through this. I didn’t have medical management mine was at home but I had bloating for quite a while afterwards and it took a wee while to settle back into a proper digestive rhythm too which I think was part of it. I think it’s a combination of the miscarriage and hormone withdrawal but if it continues defo call whatever number you were given post op to check as there’s no harm and what they are there for. Sending you a big hug , look after yourself 💜 xx

Hi Oliveivy.. so, so sorry to hear of the loss of your tiny little one. I hope you’ve got plenty of support around you just now. You’ve had a general anaesthetic, which can often cause upset during recovery. Make sure you drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your urine output, plus avoid constipation. Have a rest but walk around as well. Hopefully, all will pass and you will feel stronger. See your GP if it continues.Thinking of you. Diane

Hi, I had Misoprostol medical induced miscarriage on Monday 8th. I had 4 hours of heavy bleeding and extreme cramps on the Monday. Then Tuesday, weds and Thurs I felt physically fine. Then Friday morning in the middle of the night I woke up with extreme cramps again. Not as bad as Monday. But bad enough I can't sleep and desperately needed to take pain relief. Since then I have had constant cramping and little bleeding but the cramps won't let up. I'm feeling a lot of discomfort and having to manage with pain killer. EpU didn't really explain if I fit the proper profile of someone going through this type of miscarriage. They just said if pain not manageable go to a and e. Still currently suffering with cramps
