Some will be aware that I have been having IVF treatment since 2018 following two ectopic pregnancies. The first in 2013 in my right tube (which was treated by medication) and my second in 2017 where the left tube was removed. I had some tests after this and was told my right tube was blocked with one doctor advising I remove the right tube. I was clearly told I could not conceive without IVF treatment. Therefore I started IVF treatment two months after I got married on Jan 2018. After three rounds of egg collection in 2018 I had 5 embryos in the freezer. The first transfer in June 2018 failed. My second transfer in December 2018 was successful and I have my daughter now aged 4 (born in Sept 2019).
We had three embryos left and tried again in 2021 and 2022 for a sibling. One embryo perished upon thawing and the other two transfers resulted in BFN's 😭
We made the very difficult decision in 2022 not to continue with treatment for emotional and financial reasons. We felt blessed to have a healthy child and accepted we were one and done although we always wanted another child and to give our daughter a sibling.
I then decided to focus on my career and left a secure job in Feb this year that I had been in for 15 years. We also booked two foreign holidays having not been abroad since 2018.
A week after starting my new job I found out I was pregnant. My initial reaction was fear as I suspected it would be ectopic. My worst fears were confirmed when I had an early scan and was told the right tube would need to be removed. I was devastated but accepted it. I had the surgery and woke up to be told the pregnancy was not ectopic it was an ovarian cyst that had been seen on the scan and I would need a further scan in 10 days to confirm if the pregnancy was viable.
After the longest 10 days I had my scan and was told to my amazement that the pregnancy was viable and a heartbeat was present. I couldn't believe it.
After a difficult pregnancy due to HG (which resulted in one holiday being cancelled and the other being cancelled as it was so close to my due date) I gave birth to my pot of gold baby Quinn William George on 31st October by elective c section weighing 9 pounds, 13oz .
I still can't believe he is here and he is my miracle 🥰
My family is now complete ❤️
