Chemical pregnancy? 14dp5dt frozen embryo, cramping and small bleed

Hello lovelies,

First time posting here so I hope I get it right. Yesterday I was 14 days post a 5 day embryo transfer (14dp5dt). I got my BFP (first in 6.5 years of trying!) on 10dpt. By 13dpt, I noticed my boobs weren’t as sore or ‘heavy’. I was a little concerned so I called my IVF clinic and they said to do another pregnancy test just to see if the line was darker than my OTD (12dpt). As it had only been one day since that test it didn’t seem much different, maybe even slightly darker. Yesterday (14dpt) rolled around and I had painful cramps and some pink blood when I wiped. We had an appointment at the clinic in the afternoon so mentioned it then, they took my bloods and said they would compare them to a sample on Monday.

Got back from the hospital and there is red blood on my underwear… figure it’s pretty much game over now and spent the night really upset. Cramping had been ongoing since around 11am the same day.

However, after that initial bleed, I’ve had nothing since. Cramps have subsided massively and no more bleeding or spotting. I wonder if anyone could share their experiences of anything similar. Did another pregnancy test (ClearBlue ER, same one I did on 10dpt) and the line is darker…

My mind is just racing. I don’t know whether to remain upset or cling on to any hope that things will be okay 😩 don’t worry about giving it to me straight!

Hi,

I get how your feeling right now. I got my first ever positive after my 5th transfer. On my OTD I started to bleed and was convinced it was my period as it was due that day. I went to my clinic to get my bloods done, then repeated them 2 days later and my HCG had doubled but I was still bleeding and it continued for over a week. I've since stopped bleeding and have still been getting positive tests which have been getting darker. I wouldn't count yourself out. xx

Hi Ginbaby congratulations on your BFP! Such an amazing milestone isn’t it.

Yes that’s the little bit of hope I’m clinging on to as well :) are you taking progesterone? What’s making me more doubtful is that my boobs still don’t feel as full as they had previously, but I’ve been told that’s normal as well… it’s awful isn’t it, it’s either completely normal or a sign of the worst! xx

Thank you and same to you 😀.

Yes I'm on 4xcyclogest, 1xutrogestan and 2 lubion injections, so quite a lot of progesterone. I have zero symptoms which is making me worry. The 14th cant come quick enough for my viability scan. I thought the TWW was bad but this is something else. xx

Oh bless you that is a fair amount of progesterone! I’m on two cyclogest daily, a Lubion shot every other day and five Estradiol. I’ll bet, and you know I said the exact same thing to my husband as well. I’d rather go through the 2ww again than this! Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for your viability scan xx

It's very difficult to tell - I wouldn't take too much from the symptoms like boobs hurting etc as this early it tends to be the meds. With the cramps and spotting/small bleed I had this on both my successful pregnancies (FET and natural) and assumed it was my period, so it's not necessarily a bad sign. I did also get spotting before OTD on one of my early losses/chemicals, but not on the other, so again not sure it tells you much, although I know how nerve wracking it is. I think if the lines are getting darker that's a good sign but only definitive way to know is to get HCGs done, ideally two days apart x

Hi Fruitandflowers , congratulations on your successful pregnancies ❤️ good to know we’re not out of the game yet. Yes absolutely, we have a hCG test on Monday to compare the results from Friday. Never wished a weekend away so badly 😄 x

it can defo go either way in my experience and the only thing that will really help is the bloods you are getting so that’s really good you already have the first one and booked in on Monday for repeats . I would hope for the best but prepare for the worst of it were me and try to rest when you can, good luck! Xx

Yes you’re right, it’s definitely the approach we’re going for ❤️ thank you so much! Had no more bleeding this weekend and my boobs are back to being sore. So confusing, hoping Monday brings some answers ☺️ xx

Hello ladies,

In case anyone was curious what happened with my second blood test, luckily my beta levels are increasing (3500 on Friday, 8000 on Monday), so hopefully all will continue to be okay.

Thank you for commenting and helping me through a difficult weekend! xx
