Faint line gone 😔

Doodlebug23 profile image

My faint line I got at 10dp5dt has now disappeared at 12dpt 😔

Is it likely to have been an evap line or chemical? It was an early pink dye test but guess evap line is still possible?

4th transfer and I feel I’m getting nowhere. Please don’t suggest embryo testing or further tests because my clinic haven’t recommended either for me and I can’t afford to pay extra for them.

I’m lucky to have 6 frosties so I guess just keep going…..

I'm so sorry. Know exactly how that feels and it is devastating 💔

I’m so sorry. 6 Frosties is still 6 chances so despite what you must naturally feel right now, try also not losing hope. Sending you hugs 🫂

Hi I’m so sorry to hear that. I know exactly how you feel. It was transfer 4 for me on donor eggs. By that point, having started with the best of the bunch, I was losing hope. It’s so hard because you think that DE are the miracle solution, expectations of that bfp are higher, but there really is no easy way to do this. Stay strong and wishing you the best.

Have you had results yet? Sorry if I’ve asked before. I’ve got a call with clinic on Monday to discuss transfer number 5….

CXCYCZ profile image
CXCYCZ in reply to Doodlebug23

Its going well so far. Scan on Monday though so quite scared!

It was transfer 4 on DE, I had 3 with my own before that and 3 x IUI. That's a whole pile of disappointment. There were some initial positives in all that but ultimately unsuccessful.

Spain - DE clinic were happy to go ahead with 2nd transfer but when that failed wanted tests, which came back fine, then they suggested tests after fail 3 but were happy to do another transfer - which said I would prefer and then if that failed maybe look at more tests.

I find they will always discuss the outcome with you and I was terrified the first time as I thought they would say I was a lost cause, but it was a very quick yes happy to try again and the practicalities of the timing etc. My clinic had regular meetings so the clinic as a whole looked at your case not just the doctor you were assigned to.

My clinic haven’t wanted to do any further tests after 3 failed transfers. I know they discuss cases at meetings too after treatment etc too. I feel like I want further tests so hoping they want to. X

I’m so sorry, from the image on your previous post I do think it was a chemical pregnancy which while really sad it’s a good sign. Sometimes it is just a number game. We had to transfer 4 embryos to get our beautiful daughter and this is despite the fact that all embryos were tested. Stay strong xx

Doodlebug23 profile image
Doodlebug23 in reply to Habibi87

Thankyou that has really helped me. I feel that I’d rather it was a chemical so like you say at least something has worked. I’m also not intending to test embryos unless my clinic says they want to. X

I think it is really difficult when you have all sorts of suggestions of what to try next in terms of testing (fully acknowledging that people are trying their best to help but equally acknowledging all the suggestions can be overwhelming at times and actually quite frightening how many things you can actually test). I think you are very strong to know what you are able / willing to try and sometimes we can get caught up in all sorts of rabbit warren's trying to chase the tests and best results - this is what has happened to me and I still have no baby. So keep strong and determined 💪 ✨️ 💓 6 embryos on ice is amazing too

I’m so sorry, when I read your post earlier I was so happy, but just remember you still have another 6 chances, I don’t want to say stay positive because I just know how hard it is, I’m only at the beginning of this journey and I already feel hopeless, you are so much stronger to have gone through what you been through keep it up and I have all the hope one of those embies will be your baby xx

So sorry to hear that but amazing to have 6 Frosties!! I only had one fertilised egg each round so no back ups if this one doesn’t work out! Definitely treat yourself to whatever makes you feel good and only focus on the next transfer when you feel ready Xx

On a positive note I only drank just over half a bottle of wine and have decided o felt no better for it! So today I’m doing housework and planning some healthy meals. Eager for my clinic call tomorrow for next steps. Thanks for checking in on me x

LaFede profile image

I had exactly the same issue 😢

The clinic told me the second faint line appears because of the trigger shot. This is why they had told me not to test to soon 💔

I’m using DE so I didn’t have a trigger shot.

I’m so very sorry. It really is such a hopeless feeling when another transfer doesn’t work. Having 6 in the freezer I hope is reassuring. If it was me I’d want to go straight to another transfer too x

Thankyou. Weirdly I’m feeling better with at least the hope for a couple of days rather than BFN from the off. X

I’m sorry 😢 if it was a FRER there are some dodgey ones out there just now otherwise if it was pink dye it is most likely been a chemical. Yeah keeping going is probably all you can do and maybe up your progesterone if you are only on pessaries. I’ve also added in clexane lately (hasn’t stopped the miscarriages but the last few have implanted) you could also talk to the clinic about double transfers of untested embryos but that’s not made any difference for me either but worth a try if you have 6 untested? 6 Frosties is amazing!! So much hope there (it was embryo number 4 that brought us our son doing nothing different it is sometimes just down to the right embryo) Xx

Doodlebug23 profile image
Doodlebug23 in reply to Twiglet2

No it was a pink dye early <10mIU off Amazon. I’m hoping clinic want to add prednisolone or clexane so not just trying same again which would give me a negative mindset from the off. But I will go with their recommendation if it’s just keep going. I am going to ask for double transfer. They weren’t keen before but said if this transfer didn’t work they may consider on 5th. I just think that if we are just waiting for the right one then put 2 in! I know twins is higher risk and cost but tbh I wouldn’t be unhappy about it 🙈 . I am really really thankful I have 6 frosties so at least 6 more chances. But like everyone on here I guess, I am ready now!! X

I'm so sorry Doodlebug23 it sounds like a chemical to me. I've had the same thing in the past. Tested at 8 days past transfer and got a line and then by 10 days past it had gone. I remember how devastating it was.

It does sometimes take a number of transfers, even if you're using confirmed chromosomally normal embryos. I know that probably won't be any comfort to you right now, as it wasn't for me when I was going through it. Depending on your age, it could be worth investigating further. If you're 35 or under I'd say it's definitely worth looking into things further.

Sending you all the strength and love. This road is extremely tough. Xx

Doodlebug23 profile image
Doodlebug23 in reply to Mudra85

Sounds odd but being a chemical is comforting for me cause it feels like a progression from 3 straight BFNs. Sorry to hear about yours. Gives me more hope they mine was too so Thankyou for sharing.

Embryos aren’t tested but in using a donor who’s only 20 years old so hopefully odds are they are good and clinic don’t want to test them.

I’m 47 so maybe that’s a factor though all my tests are good.

Appreciate the message as it has given me some positivity x

WillowPark profile image
WillowPark in reply to Doodlebug23

I get this 100%. My clinic told me they don't recommend early testing as it is devastating seeing a positive turn to a negative, but for me I wondered if the result meant I'm one step closer to the right result. I was so, so low for 72 hours but I've definitely bounced back better (mentally) from my last cycle than the two before having caught a glimpse of what could happen.

I tested at 8dp5dt which should have been the day for the bloods. Negative. Then 10dp5dt which was actually my home test day. VV faint positive. Managed to persuade doctors to do bloods. Clinic said do another home test in 2 days which was 12dp5dt. Line had gone. But, I’m with you. I know lines can disappear so I still want to see it! I think maybe I have found it easier too. To see at least something? Was starting to feel like I’m going through all the stress and cost almost to an end goal of a BFN - if that makes any sense whatsoever! Also feels like people don’t see the negative as a loss as much as they do having a positive albeit just for that very brief period. X

Mikki100 in reply to Doodlebug23

Next Jan. I just needed time out after doing 2 transfers within 3 months. My hormones were all over the place.. I even got mistaken for being pregnant days after the last failed transfer because my stomach was so bloated (talk about adding insult to injury!). I'm doing some blood tests this year (costing 1,300€), but nothing else.. can't really afford anything else tbh. When are you planning yours?

Doodlebug23 profile image
Doodlebug23 in reply to Mikki100

I started last November with test cycle, then first transfer December and have been going straight to next transfer asap. It’s taken this long to only get 4 transfers as I’ve had one cancelled due to breakthrough bleeding, and others my period just fell at the wrong time.

I have definitely gained weight and have a bloated belly. I hide it with floaty dresses with the waistband higher up or a Jodie. Being mistaken for pregnant when that’s the goal must have been so hard.

I can’t afford any further tests as after numerous trips to Spain and paying for meds and scans my funds are exhausted.

My clinic want to carry in with single transfers but tbh I’d rather try double and end up wit the financial burden of twins, it’s just just the safety issue worries me - I’ll cope with 2 if it comes to it! X

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. What medication did you take prior and after the transfer? I hear a lot of progesterone getting mentioned. It's supposed to support the pregnancy and estrogen is meant to maintain the thick lining. I would ask if they can up your progesterone dose. X

Have both those and clinic happy with my levels. I didn’t bleed until stopped the pessaries x

Hi Doodlebug,

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. It’s so tough getting excited when you see the line just to have heartbreak when it goes.

I’ve had 1 MMC and 2 chemicals this year and I’ve been asking my clinic what else I can do. My clinic and my hubby both say it’s a bit of a numbers game, but it still feels hard to accept.

I looked into the Emma/alice tests even though my clinic didn’t recommend them, but from what I read if they find an issue then you might be put on steroids, which is something I didn’t want. I heard that some people use vaginal probiotics in case of any bad bacteria down there which is low cost so I figured why not try that. So I’m doing that in advance of my next transfer.

My clinic have also said they will test my progesterone levels the day before transfer to check they are ok.

Good luck with your next round. Hopefully one of your frosties will turn into your miracle baby very soon.

Sending love 🤞🏻💕🤞🏻💕 xxx

Doodlebug23 in reply to Daisy-Delilah

Tbh I wasn’t really excited as the line was v v faint. And I think I’m really not convinced it’s ever going to work 😰

I’m also being told it’s a numbers game. I know I’m lucky in that there aren’t issues they are saying I need to overcome, but it’s so hard with each disappointment.

My clinic also aren’t recommending any other tests and yes from what I understand the treatment would be steroids. I’ve also looked at probiotics. I’ve been taking oral ones. Can I ask which vaginal ones you have and where from please?

My clinic have always tested progesterone levels before transfer and they have always been optimal.
