What supplements did you use to get your miracle baby?

5 IVF cycles, 4 transfers, 3 BFP but 2 MC and 1 gorgeous little girl.

No more IVF cycles for us as we cant do it mentally or financially, but we arent giving up.

Has anybody had success with any supplements to improve egg quality etc.

I have been trying the Soy and Black Cohosh combio for 3 months now with no success, but i know i am still ovulating as i have been doing the tests. I think my issue is egg quality.

I dont drink, or smoke, i do light exercise, i dont eat terrible, no red meat, i have taken DHEA and CQ10 before, but not recently. Should i revert back to these? I am just so determined to give it our all for the next 6 months and then thats it...id be 43 and then will accept that it isnt to be.

Any supplement tips would be great. I am in the UK too, so hopefully things we can get hold of.

Thanks

Hi! Both me and my husband used Proxceed (for men and women respectively) and in addition took CoQ10 in the form of Ubiquinol and Vitamin D spray. I also took oral and vaginal probiotics. Very best of luck!

Hi again. I don’t suppose you still have the brand/dosage you took for the Ubiquinol & Vit D. I googled & there are just so many options, strengths & combinations.. x

Hi Mrsjaytee just thought I’d jump in and share the two I used for my transfers, ubiquinol (Pharma Nord 100mg but the book “It starts with the egg” mentions higher doses) and vit D spray (Betteryou). They only do in 3000iu spray which is quite a high dose so I sometimes take that and sometimes take 1000iu pills instead xx

I bought the 4000🙈 I thought the higher the better…… it’s the spray in that brand… is this too high? x

in reply toMrsjaytee

Just jumping in here too if that’s ok 😅 - I’m sure in the it starts with the egg book, it says high dosage of vit D is good. But I have read on google and asked my last nurse and she said not to take 4000iu, especially if I’ve not had vitamin D levels checked. I then freaked myself out as I also read somewhere that your vitamin D levels should be above a certain number. So I dropped to 2000iu and used the Solgar ones. NTh ubiquinol 300mg tablets from Amazon I found the most affordable - i took 2 a day (600mg). X

You need to get vit d levels checked before supplementation- it’s a fat soluble vitamin so can build up. 10-25ug is an acceptable supplement dose for most brits who don’t get a lot of sun (that’s max 1000u daily)

Hi! I used Zita West's Vitamin D spray (I still use it actually)- one spray per day. For the Ubiquinol I got Ved's 150 mg Ubiquinol orange-flavour gummies from Amazon. There are so many options on the market, it is overwhelming! xx

I got Canesflor from Amazon. They are available in most pharmacies over the counter too.

Someone I know was ttc for several months and so took specific brand ones recommended by someone who I can’t remember who has a page. First time she ended up with her little boy and this time she now pregnant with twins!!

I bought the vits but I haven’t tried them yet. They are these:

Zita West Vital DHA

Simply supplements folic acid

Pure Clinica CQ10

I know they aren’t any different to other brands maybe but they worked for her and aren’t too expensive so nothing to lose?! X

hi, I would add in mitochondrial energy optimizer with PQQ by life extension or any brand really you can find that does this supplement. Take 2 a day together in the morning on an empty tummy. Wishing you all the best 🤞🏽

I took ubiquinol, boots skin hair and nails (cheaper and higher strength than branded vits speceifically for conception) high stength/bioavailable b vit combination tablets (contains folate rather than folic acid which is meant to be better) and non-fish omegas (as if you conceive fish based have too much vit a I think). I have a LG from a FET when I was taking that, and am currently 3mnths into a shock natural pregnancy (after 10+ years of never having a natural BFP) when I was taking the same in preparation for another FET. *but* on the same combination I also had one early loss/chemical on a fresh transfer, a PUL on a fresh transfer and a BFN on a FET. My consultant says it's all a numbers game but our embryos have always been good quality so maybe there's something in the supplements, maybe not, just having had it work once (possibly/hopefully twice) I would just take the same again x

Sorry to hear:(

I really feel for you and can relate. My advice if you can afford it is find an acupuncturist who can do fertility treatments. There is evidence to suggest that can improve conception., most can also do fertility massage as well. There is also evidence of red light therapy- a Japanese study- achieved 20% pregnancies in severely infertile patients- ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... - looks like infrared light.

You also need to get nutrition right- enough protein intake, multivitamin plus q10 up to 600mg I believe is okay. Check your dhea levels before you take the supplement and take if it’s down. Avoid plastics and bis phosphate, phthalates from non stick pans…

Exercise moderately if you can and it’s okay for you to with your gp. (Might need to be careful straight after ivf)

Check thyroid function and get that fixed if any issues.

Also check your husbands sperm.. as it’s half the equation.

wishing you all the best:)
