Ok, now I know I should wait till day 10 like my clinic says, but… what’s the earliest people have seen a BFP on a home test?

Earliest day to test after transfer
I had a vvfl on a first response on 4dp5dt and a clear line by 5dp on all three of my cycles. But I know people who didn’t get positive until much later (day 8 or 9).
Definitely use a pink dye test rather than blue as they are better for avoiding confusing evap lines. Good luck!!
Thanks. I’m not sure what I have. How do I get a pink dye test? Do they say that on the packaging?
3dp5dt on my successful FET - not sure why I tested that early, but the HCG went up very quickly on that one too so it must have implanted and got started almost immediately. I'd had two early losses before that (with BFPs at 5dp5dt each time, but didn't test those earlier) and I guess I just wanted to know if it had even implanted, even if it didn't last. I didn't let myself really believe it until after OTD and my HCGs carried on doubling. These were all FRERs/pink dye tests btw.
I’ve had 4 transfers & 3 I tested early & one I waited. All negative. If you test early & it’s negative ur brain will argue ‘am I out or too early.?’ If it’s positive you’ll worry if it’s staying. Probability wise an early test is most likely to be negative from being early. Try & wait.
Don’t worry about blue dye/pink dye- if you’re pregnant any test will have the right results without worrying about evaporation lines. Does your clinic do a blood test to test hcg?
4dp5dt and that was on an internet cheapie strip. I know most don’t like those though so I’d recommend a first response. Wishing you loads of luck xx
Doodlebug23 it’s such a personal decision and you can only wait as long as you can!
I can share my experience though as it’s surprised me….
My first x2 cycles I tested early as I couldn’t handle the lack of control. They were both bfn and whilst I stayed hopeful the result might change, I felt like I’d been let down slowly which was better for me.
After those goes I was sure early testing was right for me until…
Most recent round number 3, tested 9dp5dt and bfp, 10dp5dt bfp started to get really excited then 11dp5dt bfn and blood test confirmed levels of 20 so only 5 under the test criteria to show up. I’d never prepared for a chemical pregnancy 😪
Those couple of days whilst we thought it might actually have worked were much harder to get over and the look of excitement on my husband’s face when I showed him the test is stuck in my head 😩
We are going ahead for x4th round this week but I’m less likely to test and will ‘try’ and wait until the blood test. If you are really pregnant then it’s not going anywhere 🤷🏽♀️
I really hope you get the result you want whenever you decide to test x
Thanks, that makes total sense! I feel like when I’ve waited longer I’ve just drawn out the home for no reason. The last time was hardest as 1st 2 I bled so was expecting it. 3rd I was shocked at the BFN. This time I’ll be ignoring ALL symptoms and just focusing on the test day. I’ve never had a BFP and weirdly feels like at least if chemical I’ve moved to next level… sounds weird I know. Good luck with your next round x
I totally agree, the goes when it hasn’t worked I’ve been really pleased to have been put out of my misery sooner rather than later. I’ve always had the bleed too before the blood test (usually on the day) and that’s helped me see it really hadn’t worked.
Until now we’d never had a bfp either and I am a bit hopeful that it means we might have success but weirdly also makes me think it will be more difficult to ever stop trying now there seems more chance somehow. Realistically we can only afford x3 more goes and then we’ll have to accept defeat (plus I’m 41).
Thank you and keep us posted x
4dp very faint positive x good luck x
I waited the first two times and both were BFNs and I was so annoyed I’d waited as if built up so much hope and it felt so awful, I’d have rather known sooner.
The last time I tested on 7dp5dt and had a strong positive on clear blue digital and normal. It was so much better for me testing early and I was prepared that it may be a chemical but i would rather have known about whether it had implanted or not at all. But luckily it wasn’t and I’m now 19 weeks 🤞🏼
This is exactly how I feel! I waited 3 times for BFN. I’d like to know bout a BFP even if it’s chemical. Congratulations!!!! X
I was negative day 6 on a First response early test, then feint positive day 7. So I was initially down as I saw others post of super early positive 3 and 4 days after 5 day transfer. But my numbers are so far looking good and betas doubling nicely. I’d try and wait till 7 days after a 5 day transfer or longer if you end up transferring day 3s
Yay! Congratulations!! 7 days does seem to be a popular time. And 7 was my dads lucky number! I’ll def be 5dt as it’s booked for tomorrow ☺️ Find out tomorrow how many I’ll have left to freeze too 🤞🏼.
I got a strong BFP on a first response test at 6dp5dt xx
I think I’m going to test earlier than the 10days….
I could never make it to test day. My first transfer I got a faint positive on 5dp5dt... it kept getting darker and I had decent lines on test day but started bleeding day after and it was a chemical. My third transfer I waited to day 6 and it was way stronger than my first.... he's now 6 months old 🥰 Good luck xx
First two transfers were fresh, and I had good lines at day 5, but both ended in miscarriage despite strong lines. My last transfer I saw nothing until day 7, and even then it was only faint until day 10, but this was the lucky one that worked, and now I’m 15 weeks pregnant, I think also frozen transfers can take a little longer to come through, it was the only frozen one I did. I guess that’s why they say wait until 10-14 days but I could never wait Fingers crossed for you xx
