BFP but still frightened due to multiple losses in the past and because TSH is now 3.1

Hi all lovely ladies,

So, good news is that I got BFP yesterday, but I’m so frightened after multiple losses in the past. I just need some hope and reassurance.

We had FET of 2 embryos with donated eggs, During TWW I had light red spotting and the hospital increased levels of progesterone. (I’m taking estrogen 3x1, progesterone IM injections every 4th day, , prolutex (subcutaneous inj. 2x1) and utrogestan 2x2 and Clexane 1x1. ) I’m sorry for TMI.

My TSH appeared to be 3.1 (I haven’t checked levels before transfer because I totally forgot😞 although my endocrinologist told me a year ago to do that, but I forgot. I’m blaming myself so much after all that I was going through, I can’t explain…

Now, Dr said they don’t want TSH values above 2,5 and prescribed Levotyroxin 25mg.

I need reasurrance and hope that everything will be ok and that it is not already too late (since the TSH is already above 2,5) From tomorrow I’ll start Levotyroxin 25mg. Hope it’s not too late already and that harm is not already being done…😞🙏

Thank you so much for sharing any similar story.

Mine was 2.9 at 5 weeks and I was on levothyroxine already. They upped my dose and it came back down pretty quick. I'm now 14 weeks and everything is looking good (I've had a couple of losses too). Congratulations on your BFP.

Thank you so much dear Tarasunny!!! I hope everything will be fine… I was just frightened because Dr reacted, like “How come that you haven’t had checked TSH vakues with endocrinologist before transfer??!” I felt stupid… must be that I wanted to forget all that happened last year (when I was at endocrinologist last time, after missed miscarriage) It’s hard to explain…I totally forgot about TSH. And by the way, Dr (gynecologist) also haven’t mention how important this could be…

They are not aware how their reactions can add to our anxiety and fear…

I hope all will be fine. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and take care! Wish you to enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible🌷❤️

Try not to worry it wasn't that high and your on the right treatment. Pregnancy can make your TSH go up mine had been sitting about at 2 for at least a year and I didn't get it checked before my last round either. I bet if you had yours checked before it would've been less than 2.5 anyway.

hi Pigi, congrats on your BFP. My TSH in my second pregnancy was 4.1 after my bfp and I had to push for 2 weeks to get my gp to send my results to the endocrinologist so I was almost 7wks when I finally had my dosage increased. It didn’t impact anything and I have my 3 week old baby in my arms right now. All the best for your pregnancy - hope it is smooth and stress free for you xx

Congrats and I hope all will be fine. I've got an underactive thyroid and my TSH when I got pregnant twice both shot up to 6 and 7. The doctor just increased my levothyroxine dosage and said the rise was because of pregnancy and wasn't worried. Yours is much lower than mine was and you'll be on medication very soon so try not to worry. If you'd had a natural pregnancy you wouldn't have known potentially for weeks and this happens to many women and they start taking medication much later than you and they have healthy babies so try not to worry.
