hello, we are in the process of moving to a clinic in Spain and having a DE cycle. Our Spanish doctor has recommended a mock cycle before the actual transfer. To be honest I don’t see the point as have had five transfers of OE with no issues with transfer, lining etc. what are others experiences? Has this actually helped anyone?
mock cycle : hello, we are in the... - Fertility Network UK
mock cycle
I have recently had a mock cycle for FET. I have had previous medicated and natural FETs . I had previous issues with getting a thick lining on medicated cycles. The clinic was proposing medicated without prostap, just starting estrogen on cycle day 2 seeing if skipping the prostap this will have better results for my lining. So I tried the mock cycle without prostap
and i found out that the estrogen wasn't enough for downregulation for me , I still ovulated. Whilst the mock cycle didn't help understanding the lining issues it helped with knowing what I need for downregulation.
Good luck
hi I had a mock cycle with my Spanish clinic prior to embryo transfer ( we also had a Donor egg) . I found it really useful as it gave me confidence that they and I knew how my body was expected to react (mine was a natural cycle with added Cyclogest) You might feel that it delays things but it is only a month and look what you would gain. Also with the travel expense that most others don’t need to worry about when it comes to transfers it also made me happier that our transfer might be more successful. Hope that helps xx
We were asked to do one for the 10th transfer (new branch of existing clinic) we queried it and they said if we could could get details of previous transfer (measurements and position of uterus) then that would be fine. In hindsight if does make sense, you don't want any nasty surprises but if you really can't face it and you can get hold of previous transfer details then that could be a good compromise. Best of luck x
Hi Ffff. Perhaps he/she wants to be in more control. Good luck. Diane
