Progesterone in a natural cycle FET

Hi there,

I'm nervous about my first FET tomorrow. It's a natural cycle. I've asked a few time about if I should take progesterone because I'm anxious about having another miscarriage. The nurses say I don't need any progesterone because my level is normal. But everything I've read says that it's better to supplement and it leads to higher success rates. Has anyone else had a natural cycle which has been completely unmedicated?

oh sending you the most luck. I think go with what your gut says. I’ve just done a natural cycle after a medicated one as I felt so terrible on the medicated cycle, and out of control of my body. Just listen to your body and then explain to them - they’re there to listen, support and understand. Sending love x

I’m sure there are plenty of success stories of it working without supplementing but I would just say to them, that you don’t feel comfortable doing it without supplementing with progesterone pessaries. There’s no harm in supplementing and for many women it is necessary. Especially if you have a history of miscarriage they should understand this. I would just push for it if I were you, it’s not harming you or them in any way. And if it doesn’t work you’ll always worry that it was because you didn’t take the progesterone. Wishing you luck!

Hi polykleitos. Maybe they might offer it post transfer. Keep asking, but trust them too. Good luck. Diane

thanks for replying Woody87 , Wishinandahopin and DianeArnold I had the transfer and asked again about progesterone. Nurse said I could take it if I really wanted but that as far as they were concerned it was unnecessary. Decided to trust their judgement especially because the side effects don’t sound great
