RECOMMENDATION FOR A FERTILITY SPECIALIST IN LONDON FOR A 46 YEAR OLD

Hi all,

I’m looking for a fertility Dr in London who specialises in getting older women pregnant. (Im 46 years old)

I’ve never been pregnant and have grade 4 endometriosis.

Can anyone recommend a specialist / clinic that they have had personal experience with that they have had success with.

Hi there, before I DM you can I ask if you’d be open to donor egg/embryos? My colleague had success at 46 but with a donated embryo x

hi there, I’m not of your age group but was initially diagnosed with a low AMH and I had a consultation with the Lister in London. I learnt that they have a lot of experience in treating older women. I didn’t end up having treatment with then but they came across very experienced, so they may be worth looking into. Good luck!

I don't want to seem negative, but with own eggs the stats at 43/44 indicate that 17 embryos would need to be sent for testing to get 1 normal, which would have a 1 in 3 chance of implanting. HEFA indicates there is a less than 1% chance of a live birth. It is possible to get lucky and people do get lucky, but it is rare. Even with a high AMH there's most likely egg quality issues. Many clinics in the UK won't treat with own eggs over 45. You might find a clinic that will take your money but won't be honest about your chances of success. I wish you luck and I hope that you do defy the odds and you are the exception. I just wanted to pass on the info I'd wish I had.

With donor eggs the odds are vastly different, something like 60-75% chance on first round, as the eggs have less genetic damage. And you can get treated to 50 and beyond.

I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say good luck! I am 47 and after failed NHS at 42 with my own eggs. I am now on cycle 3 private with donor eggs.

I'll send you a PM - I currently have a 3 year old sitting on my sofa wondering what breakfast to choose. I was 44 and used my own eggs - wasn't against donor but had never tried with my own so wanted to try. But I didn't particularly have any 'issues' other than my age. So wishing you positive growth for this journey.

You never know what your personal odds are until you start and take your chance. It's important to go in with eyes open but there are also women who do conceive with their own eggs and you'll get a feel with your rounds where you're falling in terms of likelihood. I wish you the best of luck! ❤️

I am not your age but have had infertility issues for years.

I did quite a bit of research on London fertility clinics before starting my journey and I found that the Lister clinic (the one at The Portland) is very good.

I was treated there and had exceptional care - I picked Dr. Salim as my consultant.

hi Mandy, CRGH have very good success rates and with me and partner did a miracle with our treatment given our circumstances. I’m 38 but they have good success rates for 44+.

Their admin can be a bit chaotic but the doctors and nurses are second to none in my opinion x
