Prostap day 21

Hi, I have my prostap injection on day 21 of my cycle and my period is still not here! I am due to have my scan on Monday. I called the clinic a couple of days ago and the nurse wasn't very helpful and simply told me my period would come. Has this happend to anyone else?

Hi Valentina,

I'm no expert as I'm currently on my first round of IVF but thought my story might help ease your worry.

I had a zoladex implant on day 21 of my cycle (20th July) and didn't get my period until Tuesday 1st August (it was due on Saturday 29th so 3 days late).

My scan was yesterday on 2nd August which they booked in when I first got the implant. They were happy to do the scan even though my period had only started the day before. After the scan, they decided I should delay my stim injections by one day so my lining could thin out a little more.

I was also really worried about my period not coming, but it did come eventually the day before the appointment and I started my stim injections today, only 1 day later than expected.

The injection sometimes can upset your cycle -it will appear eventually Hope scan goes well on Monday Good luck with your treatment

Not to sound like your clinic 😬 but it will come and even if it doesn’t for Monday my clinic say still to come in to check lining and see what’s going on. I’ve had it before where they gave it another week and it was there. I also had it before after a cancelled cycle where I had the prostrap already that they had to induce it with noristherone and it came within the week so they do have options of after a week or so it still hasn’t came and blood tests show it’s not imminent so try not to worry 🤗 it’s common and it will likely come soon but even if it doesn’t it’s not a disaster just a small delay.
