Hi, I have just found out after two years of trying to conceive that I am suffering from POI / peri menopause. I am heartbroken however would like some advice and help. My AMH level is 0.2 so not great but I wondered if anyone has had success stories in a similar situation to me through IVF without using a donor? Also I live in the Midlands and would like to go private but I’m struggling with where to go. Any advice/recommendations on where is best for my circumstances?

IVF with low AMH - HELP!
Hi Ellie
I know we spoke when you posted previously. I'm sorry you are going through this, I have not been through exactly the same diagnosis but I did learn I had low ovarian reserve 2 years ago and am likely to experience an early menopause though not yet. Unfortunately I cannot give you a success story - I have to be honest and say I have struggled enormously with getting many eggs retrieved through IVF and therefore with getting embryos. It has been a very rough road and sadly with poor reserve it can take a good few goes (not in all cases but I think the majority). In your shoes I would contact a couple of different clinics and see what plan they would suggest. Some clinics go for a milder approach in order to get few eggs but make them the best quality possible. Other clinics give high amount of meds to try and get as many eggs as possible. I will private msg you in regard clinic names. You may find some clinics do propose a donor as this would increase your chances however it is worth talking to different clinics as you may find you get different responses and protocols suggested xx
Hi lovely yes i will message you x
Hi. Please reply to this post by DM/PM if mentioning clinics by name, so as not to advertise. Diane
Oh love, I so get it. I had this diagnosis too at age 36, my amh was 0.3. It was devastating. I did have 4 rounds of IVF, a mix of natural/low drug and throw everything at it approaches. It's so tough. I got 1 good embryo from all that. Which I'm still to use, so can't comment on the success, but chances are thought to be 30-40%. (That obviously means 60-70% chance of failure, which after everything I did, how much money I spent...honestly has made me not want to step back into that world). That was 5 years ago! I'm now in full menopause.
If you are tight for cash, you could think about if you could handle doing donor eggs which will be more likely to produce results. But I know it's so hard not to try with your own eggs.
I wish you all the best. This community will be full of info, support, advice and help xxx
hI Ellie! I was diagnosed with low amh and perimenopausal 2 years ago at 33. I'm afraid I don't have a success story, but can give you some info. I was told I should use donor eggs, but I tried 2 rounds of ivf anyway. both unsuccessful. I since have been on clomid 100mg and this has worked for me. I've had 2 large follicles every month and ovulated naturally. this unfortunately hasn't resulted in pregnancy, but maybe due to male factor. I find with research more women with low amh respond better with mild ivf. I hope this helps, don't give up hope
