Does anyone actually get a bfn then bfp on oftd?

When someone tests early after ivf transfer people say it’s too early & there’s still hope. Does anyone actually get an early negative test that changes to positive on the official test day?

Is the official test day the equivalent to what would be the first day of missed period?

After IVF, you should be going for a blood pregnancy test, not doing a home urine test. So if that blood test is negative on test day, it is negative.

our clinic never did blood tests so had to rely on hpt’s!

I think it’s the case in most U.K. clinics. Mine is the same, and your doctor / GP will only test blood if there is a concern…

Ok I'm in Europe so I guess it's different.

All it can take is a day, it has to change at some point if it’s a bfp. I tested one day and it was negative, the next a squinter. All the best!

I tested early and a bfn then tested on otp and got a positive

it has never ever happened for me, a negative has always stayed a negative by 7dpt BUT it happened to my friends with a frozen transfer a few weeks ago. They tested twice before test day ( 6 and 8dpt) and got a negative but on test day at 12dpt it was postive so it defo can happen. It also depends what tests you are using as some are more sensitive than others xx

Blood test would be the most accurate. I’m in the UK and have always had a blood test from both clinics I’ve used. Good luck. Xx
