Hi Katya. I’m really sorry to hear that your cycles didn’t work. I’m 44 and am due to start my first IVF cycle tomorrow (eeek). I’ll let you know how I get on x
Hi, there is a lovely ladyJoyfulStar who had success at the age of 43 xx
What a lovely comment 😊
Hello, Lolepops had success at 43 too. It is possible but hard. I'm on my final own egg rounds at 44 after trying constantly since 43. Good luck. I hope it works for you one way or another x
Hi - yes myself and a friend - her by IVF at 42 and myself by shock natural conception at 42. It definitely is possible xx
Hi Katya22,
Bereaved mum is absolutely right. I was aged 43 when I had success. I started my journey aged 41 but my treatment was delayed for different reasons. My first cycle was done when I was 42 but it was unsuccessful. I then changed clinics and did a 3 cycle package of embryo banking as my new consultant noted they rarely see success in ladies older. I did a fresh transfer after the third cycle and got a BFP a few weeks before my 44th birthday .
Happy to answer any questions you may have. All the best with your journey 🌈
When I was 41 I naturally conceived but had a missed miscarriage (around five and a half weeks) although this was not diagnosed until week 11. I then had fertility tests at 42 and I was told I had very low AMH and the low AMH combined with my age meant it would be difficult for me to get pregnant. I had two attempts at IVF and both times I only got one blastocyst. First one didn’t implant and the second one I had tested and it was aneuploid and therefore it was not transferred. I also struggled with a very thin lining but all other tests showed my uterus was fine. I then naturally conceived when I was 43 but had another missed miscarriage at week eight. Sadly there was no heartbeat. After taking advice from two reputable and knowledgeable doctors - both of whom said that I would need to have 30 rounds of IVF to achieve a life birth and that I had a less than one percent chance of conceiving either through IVF or naturally because of my age and low AMH, we decided to pursue the donor egg route. We purchased some frozen eggs and managed to create seven blastocysts. I also had the ERA, EMMA and ALICE tests to give us the best chance at succeeding. Three days before I was supposed to start the process to have one of those blastocysts transferred I found out I was pregnant again. The day of my positive pregnancy test also happened to be the day before my 44th birthday. We didn’t think this pregnancy would go anywhere due to our previous experiences but our little boy who is now 16 weeks old defied the odds. I would say yes it is possible to conceive at 43 but also very difficult because of the increased chromosomal abnormalities and in my case my low egg reserve. I really do hope that you are successful whichever route you decide to pursue. Best of luck.
Thanks for the detailed message and sharing personnel journey;
I can relate to most of the things, my lining is not good- after all the medications the max it reached was 7.5 mm. My AMH was okayish on paper but poor IVF outcomes made my doctor to conclude not good egg reserve and once cycle was good enough gave four fertilised egg but only one had bloastocycst and was frozen, two of them didn't make and had chromosome abnormality; one rested on day 2. Also, dr suggested I needed more cycle to have life birth too;
I think, I will try convincing my husband to try couple of more times before frozen transfer; As my doctor said frozen has 1% chance only and that can be tried at 45 age; She suggests have perseverance and only for fresh cycle if money is not a problem and can deal with emotional toll or go for frozen and as a last resort try donar egg.
Why it's so difficult. By gods grace, money is not a problem but my husband struggles more than me to deal with negative outcome;
All the very best to you. Hope all goes very well.
hi after 3 failed tries with donor eggs, the fourth try was successful and I had twins in July last year, I was 48 turning 49🙂sending you all the best wishes and luck x

hello, Yes I was 42 when I had my son naturally without IVF trials. However, I tested for inhibin B which was high and I was sure I had quality eggs!! I hope all the best for you!!
I had my little girl when I was 44 but she was frozen from a cycle when I was 43. It was a long tough journey but worth it and I’m so thankful for her & all the support I had from this community. Happy to chat if it would be helpful? xx
hi, I’m 42 and will be 43 in July. I recently completed a frozen embryo transfer with my own eggs and now 10 weeks pregnant. There is still hope at our age, whether own eggs or donor eggs. Good luck x
