I did a home test for DHEA-S levels which were shown to be in the ‘normal’ range, however, on sharing these with my clinic, it was recommended that I start on DHEA supplements taking 75mg daily.
I have had to stop taking DHEA due to the adverse effects it seems to have had on me. Has anyone experienced any significant side effects from taking DHEA, particularly when DHEA-S levels were considered to be ‘normal’?
TIA

I had terrible side effects on DHEA, I was really greasy, my hair was awful and it also started falling out in handfuls, I also had terrible insomnia, all cleared up within a few weeks of stopping x
Hi, I have also experienced that DHEA doesn't agree with me. My hair has become oily and straw-like, and small bumps or pimples have appeared all over my forehead. I hope they will disappear soon! Alternatively, these hair and skin issues could be due to one of the many supplements and vitamins I have been taking. I'm not sure which one to blame, though! I have been taking DHEA for a year but stopped taking it for two months (before and after the transfer). During this time, I noticed an improvement in my skin and hair. Unfortunately, our last embryo transfer was unsuccessful, so I am still taking DHEA...
hi there, I had weight gain and acne so I stopped taking it for a month, but then started taking 25mg per day and this was a good decision for me and my doctor said that it’s still a good amount xx
