Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share my ongoing fertility struggles over the last 3 years since I gave birth to my miracle daughter conceived via IVF due to unexplained fertility.
Despite failing to ever fall pregnant naturally, 1.5 years after the birth of my daughter I fell pregnant naturally. Unfortunately this ended in an early miscarriage, and subsequently happened a second time at around 6 weeks.
This year we started IVF again, one medicated failed cycle and one non-medicated cycle which also unfortunately failed. I started giving up hope at this stage, and thought we might not be lucky enough to have another child.
I was due to start another IVF cycle in Dec 2022, but just prior I discovered I had become pregnant naturally again - and this time it’s been successful. Im currently 14 weeks, and still pinching myself as well as being a nervous wreck - which I know is normal for us ladies.
In one of my early scans a consultant said he had concerns I wasn’t producing progesterone naturally and Ive been taking progesterone pessaries up until 14 weeks. This makes me wonder if this may in fact be the issue I’m experiencing.
I do check in from time to time to see how you’re all doing, and have seen some wonderful success stories. I’m sharing this update as it may be helpful for somebody in a similar situation.
Sending lots of baby dust to those still on their journey - keep going! ✨
